Drag Racing at Cecil County Dragway - October 22nd

Well I didn't break into the 12's like I wanted to last time so I'm gonna try again. This time I want to go to a better track that may be less crowded. Cecil County Dragway is where I went my first time and set my record time. Hopefully this time around I'll be able to break that record.

They are open from 9 AM to 4 PM and I will try to spend as much time there as I can. Should be fun! So who's interested in coming with me?

The track is located at

1916 Theodore Road
Rising Sun, Maryland 21911

I may be able to make it so I'm a tentative.

b1adesofcha0s 10-01-2011 09:11 PM

Awesome! I need someone (probably Al) to come with me and help me take out my passenger seat and then watch it for me as I run.

steveg78 10-01-2011 11:46 PM

That's my stomping ground! If I'm around that weekend ill try and swing by. It will be nice to see some z's reppin. I get tired of seeing turbo diesels spewing black coal out a 12" stack sticking out the center of the bed..

shystieboyz 10-02-2011 01:06 PM

steveg78 10-02-2011 01:11 PM

I think I'm gonna wait till November for this so that the temps go down more.

steveg78 10-13-2011 01:55 PM

Yeah I don't know about all that. I have them on because I DD my Z and will eventually have to drive it in the snow. Also had these same ones on when I had my 12.9 run.

Hahaha lucky shoes. I was kidding about the road trip to vermont in jan-feb...although that would probably be the cause of a few "I wrecked my Z" threads :)

Though I may need to replace my rear tires soon. Wondering if I should do it a little early and try to have them before I head out to the track. Would be bumping up the rears to 275's from the 245's that are on there now.

My Z will never EVER see snow... lol:roflpuke2:

b1adesofcha0s 10-15-2011 09:38 AM

Looks like temps will be better than I had previously expected. Also ordered new rear tires (275's) which should be here on Monday. If I can get them installed next week, I think I will keep this date and go to Cecil County next Saturday.

It's not just a crazy idea, it's physics. Colder temps means denser air, which creates more power. More power = faster times. I want to go whenever I have the best chance of getting good times.

I did months and months of research before I bought mine. That's just how I am though, with everything. My only major impulse buys have been my mods, but I knew all about them beforehand :rofl2:

I forgot I have a christening and I'll be in NJ for the weekend. Should be some great weather. Good luck!

brian0128 10-18-2011 07:48 PM

I'll most likely come up and watch you run again. If I decide not to have a beer I may run the bike. We'll see.
