4r3s 02-03-2012 09:22 PM

I'm thinking about getting some brakes shown below and something to give me a lil drop to close up the wheel gap. what have others gone with as far as springs or coilovers? and Kirk can you help me install these sometime in the future?

Z1 Akebono Sport Brake Upgrade Package
- Brake Fluid Options Motul RBF600 (2)
- Brake Pad Options AMS Carbon Ceramic
- Z1 Stainless Steel Brake Lines Yes
- Brake Rotor Options Cross Drilled / Slotted
- Caliper Option 40th Anniv. "Red" Calipers
- Optional Dust Shields No

eastwest2300 02-03-2012 11:26 PM

I think the general consensus around here is the Swift Spec R springs.. although, I dont have them yet.. they're pricey.

I know. I just need the garage space and tools. I pretty much do all the work on the oil changes myself now, just borrow garage time and tools from Kirk. I can wait till he comes back.

That's the exact same brake package Kirk helped install on Al's Z. For springs, the best choice is definitely the swift spec r. You can get them for like $300. Don't really have much experience with coilovers so maybe someone else can help you out with that.

Yea but they don't broadcast the commercials.

4r3s 02-04-2012 04:25 PM

so i guess the biggest difference with springs and coilovers is that coilovers you can adjust the ride height but springs your stuck with what ever the settle at?
