I totally ran to grab my keys after I saw your caravan drive by my room Wed. You guys must have went right outta FVR up 28 cause I went left and didnt catch up. Then on our way back passed y'all on Hellbender heading out to the Dragon. Really wanted to run w you guys.

We hung by the lodge for what seemed like an eternity, cuz no one wanted to lead. lol

But as soon as we left, it was hittin hard and heavy all the way from Fontana to Mile Marker 11 on the Dragon.

Nope we went left and headed up the skyway. But we where flying! I know Steve was leading then me and then Chris and I didn't see anyone else behind us for a while...lol

I was talking about Wednesday's Dragon Run, not Thursday's Cherohala Run. Or do I have my days all mixed up?

I do have ish mixed up. You came down Wednesday evening, right?

IDK bout that cause I went left outta FVR down Hellbender and down the Dragon. Passed you guys on Hellbender when I was heading back to FVR. You guys were Dragon bound. BUT maybe that was Thurs. IDK, I lost track of what happened when

It is possible that you guys ran the Skyway then passed us when we were heading back because we got behind a semi on the Dragon. Then stopped down by the bridge right after the Dragon for awhile to take pics.

BTW, I can totally do without the Skyway.

Wednesday was Dragon run.
Thursday was Cherohola Skyway/Cross County run
Friday was Great Smoky Mountains State Park / Klingons Dome run.

Talked to a work contact today who's from NC. He told me that back in 2006, a huge section of 129 was blocked off due to a tremendous mudslide. He was heading home to Raleigh, and the detour would have taken him hours out of his way. He asked nicely, and the construction workers let him through. He had those roads completely to himself, including the Dragon. I'm jelly.

We've definitely lucked out the past 2 years when it comes to weather and no mudslides closing off sections of the Dragon

In 2010 they clear part of a rock slide before ZdayZ. We had to turn around right after the Dragon ended.

We waited for the TN trooper to come around and open the gate at 7AM, we knew nobody was coming plus no cops, that was fun.

That was my favorite year for driving the Dragon.

That run is still the fastest I have ever pushed my car on the dragon.

Dragon as a closed course = once in a lifetime opportunity.

-Missed you and your crew at this year's morning runs. (I know you guys were busier than usual this year)
