No big difference. A member cabin is, I believe, a time-share, so you have to ask the owner of the time-share and arrange your stay with them.

I booked from Sunday-Sunday for next year even though the event is really only Friday-Saturday.

My wife and I stayed in the Lodge and the room was pretty nice. We did spend some time in the 3BR cabins that the local Cleveland Z Club rented and they were nice as well. With that being said, my wife and I kind of like the privacy and solitude that the Lodge offers, but that's just us. Also, we thought that the food in the Lodge restaurant was REALLY GOOD!

We also have our room rented for next year as well, but we will request a differnet room (after Memorial Day) than the one we had (A/C noise) and one that faces the pool instead of the parking lot. Next year, we plan on meeting more 370Z forum folks as this was our first year and a bit overwhelming.

I must say, that this was one kicka$$ event and we can't wait for the return trip next year.

You get plenty of privacy in a 1BR cabin.

The Lodge rooms are generally pretty nice. And it's great being a short walk away from breakfast! And free coffee in the lobby.

I like the cabin more, though. More space, your own driveway, a proper kitchen and fridge.

You can't really go wrong either way.

Cabin is nice for parking. Though some of the driveways are not accessible by anything but a 4x4. Still, plenty of space to street park.

The problem you fellas had last year was that while many of the facilities are more modern inside, your cabin was built by one A. Lincoln, esq.

Lodge room this year.

Cabins end up cheaper if you split the cost with friends.

Can we reserve cabins for 2013 yet?

I'll probably need to room with someone, but I can't start making any plans yet. Hoping to have a new job by ZDayZ next year so I gotta see how it will work out with getting those days off.

Everyone at ZDayZ is your friend. What I'd do now is call and reserve a lodge room for the days you want to go next year. You only put down a $99 deposit. If a cabin opens up you can work out a deal with ppl via the ZDayZ FB then cancel your lodge reservation.

This way you won't have to worry about not having a place to stay.

You'll have a blast in the lodge if you can't get a group together. We made a ton of great friends this year w/ our neighbors. We're actually getting the cabin next year w/ our group from the lodge this year. Either way, you'll have a good time

Are cabins already filled next year?!

Probably not. But it's always good to reserve early. We are going to fill up the whole resort next year. I doubt you'll be able to book a room or cabin come January.

m4a1mustang 05-22-2012 10:57 AM

Also, if you didn't go this year you probably can't book until next week. Fontana holds all of the cabins/rooms for one week so people that attended ZDayZ this year can reserve the same cabin/room for ZDayZ next year.

I think I might reserve my same cabin, with an eye on upgrading if something becomes available, just so's I have a spot.

Your cabin was in a pretty good spot. You should call and reserve it. Hopefully you are there for the whole week again. I could drive down with you.

I really liked the cabin, but I want moar bedrooms next year.

Wonder if I can re-book, and then say "upgrade me if such and such opens up" without losing any deposit moneys.

FPenvy 05-22-2012 12:11 PM

i was thinking about gettin a bigger one and just letting whoever needed a place to crash there since i know how bad it sucked this year not having anywhere to stay personally.

I wouldn't want to room with you. By the end of the week, one of us would be dead with an AFC North jersey thrown on the body for good measure.

The only thing I ever did in a cabin was sleep, Siht and shower. The rest of the time was spent at Jon's cabin, the Grille or in the Z!!!
