When I bought and drove my Z 1200 miles home from Louisiana I bought a radar detector from best buy. It's was $225 and saved my as-s multiple times on the way home. Especially when I decide to top my new baby out lol

You'll be fine with the V12s. They wont cut down on the level of fun you have. Hell, I think my S2000 is amazing fun on its all seasons right now simply because it lacks grip. It makes the limit lower, and that car is mad fun at the limit.

I drive fairly aggressive on a daily basis and the V12's havent really let me down. Im feeling more grip after my suspension mods for sure.

sfearl1 04-18-2012 11:27 PM

kind of on topic, does anybody have any good recommendations for walkie talkies for the trip?

m4a1mustang 04-19-2012 04:46 AM

Motorola... the 35 mile ones. About 50 bucks on Amazon.

Alchemy 04-19-2012 07:01 AM

We still need to test and see if we can communicate with each other from our apartments. Probably not because of the trees. :icon17:

HAHAHA yes!

m4a1mustang 04-19-2012 09:20 AM

Though if it works I am turning my radio off immediately. :bowrofl:

sig11 04-19-2012 09:31 AM

FYI there is some weirdness when selecting channels to work with lower end radios... I'll charge mine to see if I can remember what it is. :P

sig11 04-19-2012 09:32 AM

OH! These have sub-channels and cheaper handsets just use sub channel 1.

last cruise we couldn't use 3:70...

had to bump down to 3:38 or something to accommodate the other radios..

So excited. I cut through last weekend with my girlfriend. She was nervous at first but LOVED it. :) Next to no traffic on the dragon too. We had a couple folks who wouldn't get over but there was so little traffic it was nothing to pull over for a couple minutes to get a gap.

FPenvy 04-19-2012 01:22 PM

all this talk about this road is really making me want to come down lol

Nice! Make sure they don't lead to any of those dead end gravel roads.

Or that damn gravel road Lance took us down.

sig11 04-19-2012 01:37 PM

Yeah I have been scouting them with satellite and have been researching them pretty thoroughly. There was one that looked awesome from the sky but turned out to be a one lane dirt/gravel road!

The ones I will be taking us on are all marked two-lane roads, so we should be safe!
