Pulling the FI trigger...

Talked to Sam today.

Going with a GTM stage one Supercharger turnkey kit.
With the following add ons.

25 row oil cooler (my car was hitting 240° today easy)
Remote Thermostatic adaptor kit
PLX Kiwi Wifi + iMFD with ARF and what ever other modules Sam suggests.

Wanted to go with the PLX Kiwi to keep my car stealth and still have gauges. As it is a roadster and I often leave the top down, so having the A pillar gauge cluster was a non starter for me.

Order will be placed on Friday or Monday...

I'm gonna have to be nicer to you. Now you can catch me in a hurry.

wow congrats!! wish I could pull that trigger too!

98intrigue 04-04-2011 09:25 PM

Where are you putting the gauges? Currently, there is no A-pilar gauge pod offered for our car.

I am going to try and run the gauges through the PLX Kiwi to an iPad or iPhone. if that fails i will use their software on a laptop for testing.

Rev2 is supposed to be able to read the iMFD stream and I am checking with a couple of other vendor apps to do that job.

Red__Zed 04-04-2011 09:51 PM

very nice! Should be fun

Interesting... I'm putting a boost controller and turbo timer in the cubby since I don't have navi, but I have no clue where to mount my Innovate w/b gauge.

m4a1mustang 04-05-2011 07:38 AM

I will be doing the install. Will then be heading to hills for any tuning.

You got any better options?

Welcome to the dark side Kirk

You better call Hill's today to get on the schedule, he was booking out till mid May already. I got in becuase of a last minute cancellation.

Kirkster 04-08-2011 11:31 AM

Well the order is in. Just have to wait my two weeks or so for the kit to show up.

Then do the install.

Will be off to Frank's shop after a week of light break in period for some Dyno Pulls and then send that off to Sam for any tweaks on the tune.

Already talked to Hill's Garage about things and they said that they can get me in for the dyno work in about a week after I call them.

Just heard from Sam that the SC kit should be shipping early next week. I opted for 3 day delivery so should see it at the end of next week with a little luck, will be ready for ZdayZ if it gets here...

Time for some time off...

shadoquad 04-22-2011 03:44 PM

Ooh, done in time for Zdayz? :excited:

red6spd 04-22-2011 04:41 PM

Sick man. I wanna go FI so bad but I dont have that kind of cash at the moment.

b1adesofcha0s 04-22-2011 05:41 PM

So does this mean we will have a new leader at future cruises? :stirthepot:

Kirkster 04-22-2011 05:47 PM

Nope... But I might make up a Columbia to Fredneck cruise. All back roads, with an occasional long strait...http://www.runemasterstudios.com/gra...es/shifter.gif

birdmanx1 04-22-2011 06:14 PM

That's awesome Kirk, can't wait to see S/C kit once you get it installed!!! As Brian noted, Frank & Suzanne @ Hills garage are thorough and awesome at doing TT & Supercharger installs. It seems every time I hang out with them, they are building cool engines...I have nothing but excellent things to say about them.

Shado & the rest of us will need some time to adjust to being left out WAY back in the dust and MOSTLY to your new face...Meet your future face Kirk... sexaaaaaay

Just waiting on someone to send me the initial tunes, so I can start tearing into the car. Have to start today so I can have it finished by thursday at noonish. That way I can set up a date for Hills Garage a few days before ZDayZ.

Cool just let me know, I wanna see an actual dyno pull in person for one and not on a YouTube video :icon17:

I'm off next Friday and Saturday and they are usually open on Saturday, but I think they might close earlier.

Kirkster 05-04-2011 10:54 AM

7 Hours 30 minutes total work time and I have the Power steering hard line to work on and the alternator bracket to remove, Then it is time to do the injectors and start putting things back into the car.

Fun Fun Fun...
