Steady progress ground to a halt around 6 yesterday. Issues getting the SC bracket to bolt to the motor. Going to pick up a few new bolts this morning.

TBC on next Thursday.

Kirkster 05-11-2011 05:49 PM

Well I can't wait to get back to the car. Flying home tomorrow so I should be working on the car again around 4PM.

Nice!

Kirkster 05-12-2011 07:16 PM

Just been fighting the power steering pump for the last two hours.... Align, bolt up, un bolt and realign, Rinse and repeat...

Kirkster 05-12-2011 09:45 PM

Just talked to Fezzik who did his own G37 and he had the same problem I am having with the spacer. I am just going to make a narrower one like he did. We tried to loosen things just to have them then be blocked by the power steering pulley. So it looks like I will be going the custom spacer route. Should have things running by the end of tomorrow...

The power steering bracket from GTM was too small but we used an old racer trick to make it work until GTM can get me the right bracket.

Got the last of the intercooler piping left to do, then the oil cooler, and she will be ready to be fired up...

Kirkster 05-15-2011 08:13 AM

Wed is when we leave for the dragon. Hills will have to be when we get back.

Today I will have to make sure the air fuel is ok at boost.

Tomorrow is tires.

Crap. Did not see that till now... Would have definitely come out as I was in the neighborhood...

superchargedg 05-15-2011 02:41 PM

It was a pretty good meet and the 2000hp mustang on the dyno was nuts.

shadoquad 05-16-2011 09:34 AM

I had a ride in Kirk's sled this morning. Man, that sucker hauls!!!

Kirkster 06-22-2011 12:32 PM

Sitting at JE Import Performance right now (thanks for the suggestion Keith).

We decided to do things on the drivers side as it was going to be easier to get things into that side of the car and through the firewall for gauge controller placement in the cabin of the car.

Was going to get it done over at AAM but they were quoting me crazy numbers. The guys at JE seem to be pretty good.

They have already had to take a torch to the devil bolts on the cat...

Jokes aside... how has the turbine-Z been running since ZDayZ? I know you had to clear a CEL while on the Skyway, but have you done a new tune since?

Gotten all of the CEL issues straitened out. Have not had a CEL in a couple of weeks.

Had a MAF sensor issue when the bolt head broke off and the sensor was loose and throwing a system too rich code. Had to get a new Throttle Body Intake Tube which also had a design flaw and would have led to the same problem, fixed that with a couple of extra washers. Good as gold since then.

Now that I have my AFR sensor bung welded in and the sensor installed I just have to hook up the electronics that run the sensor and the Boost gauge. I will be able to send sam some logs with real AFR/Boost readings to get a finalized tune from GTM.

Then we will put it on the dyno and get the last of it nailed down.

Other than that it runs damn strong even in the heat...

K

birdmanx1 06-22-2011 04:05 PM

Great deal K. I'm hoping to get a ride soon too in your rocket.
