No concealed carry in MD. At least not without a writ from GOD and a $1000 dollar an hour lawyer...

It's ok, because the criminals can still get their guns.

How long before it will be illegal to drive in VA?

Jessobear 02-15-2011 08:52 PM

Given the choice between living in DC, MD or VA, VA definitely comes in 3rd place on my list.

But hey, at least they let you actually turn right on red. There are a lot of places around here that don't allow you to turn left on red, which is utterly stupid.

But seriously, who turns right on red without at least stopping first and looking for oncoming traffic anyway?

PapoZalsa 02-15-2011 09:04 PM

Another reason the get the HELL OUT the REPUBLIC OF VA!!! THIS STATES SUCKS!!!

VABAM 02-15-2011 09:50 PM

I predict once the general public knows about this law it will be fought like the reckless driver "tax" a few years ago. I can understand the need to crack down on rolling right hand turns on red (most of my close calls are due to people doing this) but this excessive. This new law is not about safety it is about making money. If they had bumped the fine up a hundred or two and added a mandatory class then they could claim safety. $2500!!!! are they out of their minds.:shakes head:

Not that I'm defending this law, but there are folks who don't at least stop for a split second at a red light to look before going right?

Is this seriously a problem in VA?

I wouldnt really say it's a problem......you do see it quite often and I'll admit I'm at fault here because I've done them on numerous occasions.

I'm guessing that's why they call them "California rolls" and no, I don't mean the stinking sushi crap, either. :icon17:

Jon@AAMComp 02-16-2011 08:30 AM

Hey, in MD we just say no cop, no stop.

Red__Zed 02-16-2011 09:57 AM

I understand the motivation for this change, but you just know it's going to be enforced in all the wrong situations.
