NEGATIVE... the event is open to all who want to participate. Just last year only one NA 370Z showed up (Sharif's). Even a few locals ame by and signed up on the spot to run, a GTO, Vette and Viper. The Viper got spanked repeatedly by Paul in his GTR. Forged sponsored the event last year, so several of their customers showed up, but Hal from Injected Performance was top dog with his 9 second custom GT42 setup.

Regardless, its a great time and fun to make all out passes with whatever you bring

If this is true I will be doing as many runs as the allow. Do you need a helmet?

Yes insurance requires a helmet but no one really enforces it. This event has always been open to any Z/G/GTR that was willing to chip in their piece to cover the rental and insurance cost. There is no money being made on this event. It's just good fun, running down the strip ALL DAY LONG.

I've helped organize this event the last 3 years. We were going to let it go this year to try out the road course event and support ZdayZ sponsors, but since that is not happening, we're ramping back up.

If you want to participate all you have to do is say that you are interested and then be ready with your deposit ($125 to $225 or thereabouts depending on number who enroll and sponsors). The main thread is over at m y 3 5 0 z in the FI forum. Hope to see some of you guys there. Last year there was a NA trophy and a FI trophy.

I must have done ~20 runs last year. you just ask someone to pair up and settle on a rolling speed. Some guys even did a few runs from a dead stop. Did I mention that the police showed up to spectate last year? They even busted out the radar on us for a few runs.

We all were told to bring helmets last year ans then never used them. The guy that runs/owns the airport was super chill and even let me buy a clamp after I blew off a coupler during a run.

honestly i don't know, i just drew conclusions from what i'd heard from my friends that were there and it was a preselected few

Maybe they only want fast cars out there that are prepped, not everybody in a stock or lightly modded car.

Of course the 5.0 is banned because it's top speed is 5.0 to the 5.0th power.

I've always wanted to do like a top speed run on an abandoned air strip, like on Top Gear. Do we have any out here?

No, but you could probably sneak onto the air strip at Dulles International. Though I could see a few problems with that.

There are two classes. We even had "friends" in non-Z/non-G cars come out. A viper, a 500+ rwp C5, a V8 GTO, and a V10 M6. If you are a prior Z/G owner and/or are signing up with a Z/G buddy, then I think that's fair game also. The objective is to get a bunch of cool car enthusiasts together and have some fun. Just post up in the main thread and I'm sure you'll get some love.
