Default Are there any of these things I can't use or install on my own

Ok so I'm looking for tax refund projects and I really like the look of those red silicone Z1 hoses so....

Z1 Silicone Front PCV Hose set

Z1 Silicone Heater Hose Set

Z1 Silicone Radiator Hose Set

Z1 Silicone Radiator Overflow Hose

Z1 Silicone Side PCV Breather Hose set for Aftermarket Intakes

Z1 Silicone Brake Booster Hose (Engine side)

Z1 370Z Hood Struts

So understanding that I am functionally retarded when it comes to installing things, how badly am I liable to f up my car attempting to install all of this stuff? If the answer is "more than a little", anyone want to volunteer to help me?

Also how feasible would it be to powder coat the hood struts red to match the nismo stuff and hoses?

I'm guessing "impossible" since they can't really be taken completely apart.

I would have to say no on the hoodstruts for powdercoating.

Can't speak for the radiator hoses but the intake hoses along with the breather tubes are really simple. Helps if you remove the strut bar first but can be done without it.

You would be better off painting the struts rather than having them powdercoated. It can be done with a similar look provided you're careful in the masking and spraying.

Though there has been some issues with the fitment with them causing the hood to bow up.

As for the hoses, all of them except for the Z1 Silicone Heater Hose Set are easy to install. Remove the clamps off the old hose, remove hose, place clamps loosely on new hose, install new hose, reinstall clamps.

The heater hose is one best left to a shop to deal with as it's location and complexity to get to. I let Z1 install that one.

Thanks. I'll probably just let a shop do the heater hose.
As for the hood strut issue - their product description explicitly says that it won't cause the hood to bow. You're saying that it does? Is that a common thing? Not sure I'd want to chance it if so.

I don't wanna say it's common, but I've seen a few people on here in random places posting about it.

Hmm... I like the CF look of it... Haven't seen any installed though. Not really sure why you'd want the lower open level, unless you're venting heat?

I would be curious to see up close pictures of the mounting points though...

Did some searching and apparently they're made by EVO-R and are junk.

Someone said "kellyfields" makes a really good kit. I'm gonna search for that.

Ah.

That's who's kit I have. Simple install, the only downside is if you wanna remove the plastic surround trim, you'll have to remove the lower post which takes that pop rivet spot. Since I don't do that very often, it's not a big deal for me.

Here's his forum page: Nissan 370Z Forum - View Profile: kellyefields

I don't believe he is making his kit anymore, but you could PM him about it and see if he has a set laying around still...

Turns out "Kelly Fields" may be a person and not a manufacturer but I can't find a link to the mod. Oh well.

Thanks, I shot him a PM. At the end of his first thread he has a link to a "newer/better" model that he came up with but the link is broken so I dunno.

He said he'd make some more if we could get a few people interested.
