I hope this is true. Maybe we can get some of that money back. This season is all but over for us, but at least we can look forward to relatively high draft pic. I know it's a foreign thought for our management but I'll let them in on a little secret. You can actually DRAFT players Maybe take a look at a running back like LaMichael James from Oregon or Jordan Todman from Conn.

The era of players like Russ Grimm, Jeff Bostic, Joe Jacoby and all those guys is long gone. It may surprise people, but the Skins of old used to look a lot like modern day Steelers. Hard defense, solid, tough running game, and a constant deep threat.

There's no pride for the team anymore. Most players come here to play because they know they can get a fat easy check. Look at Buttersworth. They guy doesn't practice because he's not feeling well? And he was inactive because he was limited in practice?? wtf. I just watched the most heroic performance by ANY NFL player I've seen in a while on Sunday night. Ben Roethlisberger play the toughest defense in the NFL with a broken foot AND a broken nose. He could have easily sat out of that game because of his foot but he wanted to play. Despite the controversy, Big Ben has heart and plays because he knows he gives his team the best chance to win games. That team, like Baltimore, plays for each other and the pride of their city. While we have players like Albert Buttersworth falling over writhing in pain every other play because his toe hurts. Give me a break. I see some players on this team playing with heart, but the list is very short. I guess its true what they say, it all starts at the top.

That's one of the best things I've read in a while. What Steve said, X1000. The Skins used to have the same defensive threat that Pittsburgh has always had. Over the years, they've gotten soft. The Snyder era certainly hasn't made it any better.

While Big Ben's moral fibers may be questionable at times, you cannot argue that the guy is one tough son of a b*tch. Broken foot, broken nose, but still able to play against one of the top two defenses in the NFL. Not only was he hurt in two aspects, no flags were called on multiple plays. Did he complain to the refs? Yeah, once. He knows he doesn't receive the same QB treatment that Brady, Peyton/Eli and others get. Ben just gets the job done, no questions asked.

Heart means a lot to the Steelers, the Ravens, and other football teams out there that are playing for more than just a big paycheck. Playing for the love of the game and respect shows in their performance.

Jon, for your rant, I salute you.

Yep. Both the Steelers and Ravens embody what most of the teams in the NFL are missing... that's heart and love for the game. We saw that from both teams on Sunday. One of the best games of the year, if not the best, for sure.

You guys notice how this team seems to celebrate mediocrity? I found it funny during the NY game on Sunday that some of our players managed to still celebrate catching a pass for a first down while the other team laughed each time they looked at the scoreboard. Last time I checked, sustaining a drive shouldn't a rare thing for a football team. Last time I checked, as a receiver, it's your job to catch a pass and to try to get a first down.

But it seems on THIS team, if we get a first down, we celebrate it like a touchdown. It burns me up when I see Moss get up and spin the ball after catching a 4 yard pass. There's nothing great about having a losing record or getting your arse handed to you by a division rival. There is nothing to celebrate when you are losing 21 - 0. About 3/4 of this team need to wake up and realize they aren't as good as they think they are. And until we have an owner, general manager, head coach and coaching staff who instill some discipline and a winners mentality with these players, Skins fans in this area will continue to wait for silverware to come back to DC.

Can't remember if it was the Skins but I saw one dumbass catch a 3rd down pass and get tackled about a yard short of the first down marker. He got up and started dancing as his unit was walking off the field and the punting unit came out!

Now that's a winner right there!

Well they suspended Haynesworth for the rest of the season. Not good enough, IMO. He's not gonna change. He will never be a team player and he will never give us 100%.

Yup. It pisses me off. Save the celebrations for the end of the game. So you made a nice catch? Thanks for doing your job. Now get your *** back to the line and get ready for the next play!

The suspension was the perfect punishment. Like Lance says, his number is up in Washington. He won't be back. Plus, now he can't just pick up and move on with some other team. He's still Skins property. And they get to recoup some money by suspending his game checks and avoiding whatever possible performance bonuses he falls short on. He'll appeal it through the NFLPA, but let's face it, the guy's a disruption.

Had they cut him, he could be on the Falcons next week and have a shot at a super bowl ring. Fug dat.

I agree. I think this is exactly what needed to happen. He's been pissing and moaning since the summer, and it's finally caught up to him.

Personally, I also think that making him play every single down for the next 4 games would also be a funny punishment. I mean, couldn't hurt right?
