The Redskins fan insists he is the most loyal. 'This is for the Redskins!' he yells, and jumps off the side of the mountain. Not to be outdone, the Eagles fan shouts, 'This is for the Eagles!' And throws himself off the mountain. The Ravens fan is next to profess his love for his team. He yells, 'This is for everyone!' and pushes the Steelers fan off the mountain. :bowrofl: |

Ravens/Steelers or Steelers/Ravens in December should be renamed The Winter Classic, because the football game is always epic.
My Skins got dogged again by an NFC East team. The wait continues...:shakes head: |

I think ESPN referred to the game last night as "Crowbar Bowl II" :bowrofl: Always an epic battle. |

never would i, in my right mind, say that i am a fan |
Well it doesn't help that the Skins have horrible management. I at least thing that given some time and stability they can at least build from here. McNabb is pretty effective if you give him a solid offensive line, but right now there are so many injuries and overall just a lot of poor play. I think a lot of people thought that things would turn around right away but it doesn't happen that way.
And their record would probably have 2-3 more wins this year if it weren't for a handful of stupid plays/mistakes. |
I just got their sweat shirt because it was on sale. :D

There's no pride for the team anymore. Most players come here to play because they know they can get a fat easy check. Look at Buttersworth. They guy doesn't practice because he's not feeling well? And he was inactive because he was limited in practice?? wtf. I just watched the most heroic performance by ANY NFL player I've seen in a while on Sunday night. Ben Roethlisberger play the toughest defense in the NFL with a broken foot AND a broken nose. He could have easily sat out of that game because of his foot but he wanted to play. Despite the controversy, Big Ben has heart and plays because he knows he gives his team the best chance to win games. That team, like Baltimore, plays for each other and the pride of their city. While we have players like Albert Buttersworth falling over writhing in pain every other play because his toe hurts. Give me a break. I see some players on this team playing with heart, but the list is very short. I guess its true what they say, it all starts at the top. :shakes head: /rant |
:iagree: x1000
I couldn't have said it any better, Jon. |
BTW I heard today that there is some talk of releasing Haynesworth this week.

While Big Ben's moral fibers may be questionable at times, you cannot argue that the guy is one tough son of a b*tch. Broken foot, broken nose, but still able to play against one of the top two defenses in the NFL. Not only was he hurt in two aspects, no flags were called on multiple plays. Did he complain to the refs? Yeah, once. He knows he doesn't receive the same QB treatment that Brady, Peyton/Eli and others get. Ben just gets the job done, no questions asked. Heart means a lot to the Steelers, the Ravens, and other football teams out there that are playing for more than just a big paycheck. Playing for the love of the game and respect shows in their performance. Jon, for your rant, I salute you. :tiphat: |
Yep. Both the Steelers and Ravens embody what most of the teams in the NFL are missing... that's heart and love for the game. We saw that from both teams on Sunday. One of the best games of the year, if not the best, for sure.
|
You guys notice how this team seems to celebrate mediocrity? I found it funny during the NY game on Sunday that some of our players managed to still celebrate catching a pass for a first down while the other team laughed each time they looked at the scoreboard. Last time I checked, sustaining a drive shouldn't a rare thing for a football team. Last time I checked, as a receiver, it's your job to catch a pass and to try to get a first down.
But it seems on THIS team, if we get a first down, we celebrate it like a touchdown. It burns me up when I see Moss get up and spin the ball after catching a 4 yard pass. There's nothing great about having a losing record or getting your arse handed to you by a division rival. There is nothing to celebrate when you are losing 21 - 0. About 3/4 of this team need to wake up and realize they aren't as good as they think they are. And until we have an owner, general manager, head coach and coaching staff who instill some discipline and a winners mentality with these players, Skins fans in this area will continue to wait for silverware to come back to DC. |
Can't remember if it was the Skins but I saw one dumbass catch a 3rd down pass and get tackled about a yard short of the first down marker. He got up and started dancing as his unit was walking off the field and the punting unit came out!
Now that's a winner right there! |
Well they suspended Haynesworth for the rest of the season. Not good enough, IMO. He's not gonna change. He will never be a team player and he will never give us 100%.
