You don't drive fast enough to take advantage of it anyways. ;)

Used cars FTW :p

If I were to get a 5.0, I'd get a used one in the upper $20k range. The money I save by not buying new, can then go into mods :yum:

You can get a new 5.0 base with Brembo for somewhere in the 20s. :icon17:

very true.

I dont need top speed, just acceleration and handling.

Hence why I would probably get shot if I were to go to ZdayZ and drive the dragon/hellbender.

However, steering feel changes quite a bit when you are in sport mode or select something other than Comfort.

Uh, there is a difference in feel related to size between the vehicles. You know you're driving a larger vehicle in the Ford, from feel alone. Maybe not steering feel, but there is definitely that feeling that, "oh, I'm a tiny human in this large vessel", compared to the Z being a much more compact feeling, taut sports car.

Again, feel is also very subjective. I like the tighter feel of the Z. The Mustang is worlds more comfortable and spacious, though.

I will NEVER buy a used sports car again. I learned with my m3 and Charger srt8. People dog the sh*t out of them and I got to deal with the issues.

I never said it wasn't. I said the difference in steering feel is MOSTLY related to the EPAS. Read it again.

I'd want one more fully loaded though. I can't decide whether I want to try and convince my parents to let me buy another car this winter (probably 5.0) or if I should save up for an even better car the following year. Obviously it would be fun to get a different car now, but I feel like I haven't even experienced the true potential of the Z and I would hate to get rid of it before I do. After I do some HPDE's next year with summer tires, I think I can happily get rid of it and move on to something better. I will also be a better driver then and be able to better handle the next level up in performance.

You will kill yourself in a 5.0.

That's where you have to do your HW though. You can find used sports cars in good condition for good prices too. I bought my Z used and it was in absolute mint condition when I bought it. That combined with the fact that I bought it during a snow storm got me a really awesome deal on it. Bought it for the exact amount the previous owner got for it on trade in. $26k for certified used touring 7AT with 15k miles. I could get rid of my car now and I'd only lose like ~$6-8k if you include the cost of taxes/tags/etc. If I had bought it new, that number would be more like $15k.

I don't need to read it again, I was raising a separate point.

Look, as proven on the Dragon this year, the Mustang can't catch a Z, and the Z can't match a top of the line trike with a fat lesbian driver.

Cristobal09 05-31-2012 09:59 AM

Yeah thats another thing, the stang was super comfortable and super quiet in the non brembo package. Leaps and bounds more comfortable than the Z. I cant comment really on the brembo 5.0 since I was too nervous the entire time of stalling out lol.

The stock seats blow. Recaro or bust.

No I'd totally Steve it! Seriously though, I don't push my car anywhere near it's limits. I know I don't have the driving skills to handle it, but I'm definitely working towards improving them. Would it be any different to start doing HPDE's in a 5.0 vs a 370Z? Regardless of the car, I'd be going at a pace that I feel comfortable in until I know I can go faster.

Unless you're a fat lesbian. Then I'd say get the stock seats or possibly a trike.
