If all things go as planned, right after Thanksgiving.

Congrats dude! I start my new job at APL on Monday, tomorrow is my last day with AAI. Im sad to be leaving, excited for new oppertunites, scared things might not be as advertised, and happy for a damn near 50% increase in pay! :happydance:

 same. I'm looking at a 30% increase in pay, and it's pretty awesome. Gonna swing open huge doors of opportunity, too. We'll have to raise some beer glasses to congratulate each other soon. :D

Andrew is the new place where the
server upgrade failed?

with my company, if you are leaving to work for a competitor, they will escort you out the same day you turn in your two week notice.

It catches everyone by surprise.. but.. you cant complain about two weeks off WITH PAY before starting your new job.

I think thats a lot more common than one would think. I've been very carefull with my resignation here and making every effort possible to not burn any bridges. I really like the people I work with and for here and theres always a possibility I may return some day!

This.

I put in 3 weeks notice, and I've talked only glowingly about my experience at the job I'm leaving. It's gone from stressful situation to love fest, now that everything's decided. And if the money was right, I'd stay for sure!

I could never stay. I wouldn't trust them again. They would fire you first chance they get. Plus, once I have a commitment with the other place, there is no way I am backing down from a commitment.

in case it gets dirty

MD is mob boss capital of the world; I just wish they hired people from VA to drive their cars for them (lousy drivers).

I would have been very happy to stay with my current employer had they made a counter offer that was worth considering. My situation was a little different because I wasn't looking for another job though, APL sought after me for the position.
