Mike! How is it that I can't seem to remember your name all the time? Love that drop top!

I guess I just need to come around more often.

Yeah, definitely check. It takes 5 1/8 quarts for a full fill.

Check for any leaks at the filler plug and filter, too.

When I changed my oil I put in about 5 1/8, but maybe I put in a little bit less than 1/8 when I got to flat ground.

I checked, and everything looks good. I put in a tad more oil (don't want to overfill it), so we'll see if that helps at all, but there are definitely no leaks.

Must just be temperature + your driving habits?

All I know is in this weather, 220 is my cruising norm... 6th gear humming down the highway.

NCSUPACK09 07-25-2010 07:10 PM

It could just be that its been a little warmer the last week or so since I changed my oil, but like I said, it seems to level out at 220 now instead of 210 so its nothing to worry about, but I was just curious if anyone else had experienced this when switching to redline.

I'll see what happens tomorrow...

NCSUPACK09 07-26-2010 05:41 PM

Well, just one day, but my oil temp never got above 208 even sitting in stop and go traffic for 30 minutes. Maybe I just didn't fill it up to 5 1/8 quart like I thought I did.

m4a1mustang 07-26-2010 05:44 PM

Well it was significantly cooler today than any other day for the past couple of weeks. I'm sure it's just an ambient temperature thing.

ZCarMan 07-26-2010 06:13 PM

I'm having the oil cooler installed this week so I'm hoping no further concerns with oil temps. I'll keep you all posted. Was at AAM Comp today. Met up with Tom who was at our Gordon Biersch meet last August in Annapolis. He had his GTR in for some work and said he missed our last meet and that he would have come if he had known. I have his number so next time we do something like that I'll give him a call. Jon mentioned someone just bought a graphite 370Z from NC I think and was getting a custom TT installed.

208 is nothing the norm is around 220 for oil temp.

NCSUPACK09 07-27-2010 07:07 PM

Yeah, but my oil temps have always seemed to be cooler than most of the Z's that are on this forum. Maybe I just drive my car like a wimp :ugh2:

Red__Zed 07-27-2010 09:57 PM

I'm in for this!

ZCarMan 07-28-2010 03:06 PM

Dan, welcome! This will make four Red 370Zs although Steve (m4a1mustang) is the original person who started this meet up. Although I won't be there this Saturday (out of town), there is usually always a few of us who show up.

zZSportZz 07-29-2010 08:02 AM

I'm consistently at 220 with my temps. 208 is nothing to worry about on this car.

m4a1mustang 07-29-2010 08:18 AM

There can only be one red. I will bring my rifle. :D

j/k. Not sure if I'm making it out this weekend or not. I'll know tomorrow night!

ZCarMan 07-29-2010 04:58 PM

I am out of town and the Z is getting the oil cooler and brake pads installed so I'll see you guys next weekend!

I've got to get my oil changed and do a bunch of stuff around the homestead, so it's looking like next weekend for me, too.
