So you all aren't doing the normal VA meet this weekend right? I was hoping to make this one since I got to drive down to D&V to drop off my door handles to get them painted on Saturday.

Nah, we're going to Williamsburg this weekend, then we're in Fairfax the following weekend then back in MD the week after that.

We are meeting in Woodbridge at 5:15 AM to drive down to Williamsburg. :icon18:

I think this is what we are trying to avoid with this group and this thread. Way to much :supergay: stuff to be a site for car guys.

Maybe you guys should block this site at work like mine does. :)

Do Kate's Cars & Coffe in Great Falls. At 7:00 AM this last Saturday there were at least 30 cars. Mt favorite was a 95 M3 Lightweight. Then shoot over to D&V.

I totally agree with Shiroze! *hugs Shiroze in agreement*

But I think its Steve-Oh that is bringing the group's testosterone levels down.

Going forward, I am definetly not joining this thread during work hours; Its distracting, and I cant get any work done.

P.S. you should get the premium membership. You will love the stickers, and the other threads will increase your own testosterone levels!

Hey Amar,

Were you drifting, squealing the tires, or did the tires just wear off naturally?

I haven't seen anyone drift yet. Although I love the drifting some guy does on a red 370z in the Sports Illustrated video.

ohh ohh! I saw an air gun in the picture!!

Did you see them put the tires on? Did they use the air gun to tighten the lug nuts? At the end, they should have used a Torque Wrench and tightening to 85 foot pounds or so!

hazzazi 10-12-2010 07:54 PM

Honestly, I don't drift, but I do drive hard and sometimes I slide a little.

And I didn't see them put the tires, so I have no idea what They used

Do you guys think Amar should worry?

I see an air gun. I dont see a Torque Wrench.

If it can wait until Saturday, I do have a cheap-o Torque wrench I picked up at a parts store for $20.

ZCarMan 10-12-2010 08:01 PM

Amar, good to see you have a safe set of shoes on the NISMO! Looking forward to seeing you and the NISMO back with us again.

Amar, I would call them tomorrow and ask the mechanic if he remembers the torque specifications for the lug nuts.

If he doesn't know, I would take them back to have them re-torqued to the correct specifications (dont know for Nismo).

If it doesn't sound like they will do it right, I would take it to another place or a dealer.

m4a1mustang 10-12-2010 08:14 PM

It's probably fine.

hazzazi 10-12-2010 08:43 PM

Thanks Frank for worrying....but I think it should be fine.

And Jon, I will try and male It more this time...hopefully we can go to Mir or something.

tooohip 10-12-2010 09:11 PM

Headed to aam tomorrow for my oil cooler, hawk pads and to get my suspension adjusted. Might ask them to check out my service engine soon light as well.

I always tell the shop personnel that I don't want an air gun near my car when they are putting back my rims/tires. And to used a torque wrench which I think is 95 ft. lbs. at least that was for the 350Z rims.

m4a1mustang 10-12-2010 09:42 PM

370Z OM calls for, I believe, 85 lb-ft.

oh do tell what its for if they check it. Mine just came on im at a lil over 12k miles now. I think its just a dummy light to get you to go back to the dealer. Or its supposed to be reset after each oil change and I never bothered reseting it.

Is it an actual MIL light or just the triangular orange one with an exclamation point? If its the latter, probably something less important (service interval, etc.)

Should invest in a code reader. They can be relatively cheap, and that way you can see right away if it's anything more than a loose gas cap. And if it is nothing serious, you can reset the light yourself.

My dad has one of those... cannot tell you how much money I saved on my Grand Prix by pulling the MIL codes myself. Definitely a good investment!

GT-R Spoiler

Morning everyone,

Does anyone have a link to a picture of a Red GT-R with spoiler?

My friend needs a spoiler and I want to show him the GT-R spoiler in case he can make it work.

I think I have seen some pictures by Jon@aam, and there may be one in there, I just can't recall the thread.

m4a1mustang 10-13-2010 09:13 AM

Ask Google.

Mine is the actual Service Engine Soon light (steady). Probably just a sensor or maybe evap leak, who knows. I'll know today.
