interesting. I need a ride to Steve's house. Can you take me? I'll pay the full fare ($1.50 is it now)?

s0ftimage 10-10-2010 04:41 PM

I am bored... Steve, save me

for anyone that doesn't know...

Woot® : One Day, One Deal? has daily sales. Mostly refurbished electronics, wine, toys, and tshirts.

Its usually a sale a day, but once or twice a month they will have a woot off, which is when they dump all their inventory. Its one item at a time until its all sold out.

The retards seem to believe they can get more people online during work hours, so woot will start the sale at midnight on a weekday and it will go for 2-3 days (depending on inventory and how fast the stuff is moving)

ahh, now I get it :) thanks for explaining.

I hope you enjoy your new button. I put wheel locks on my car today. No sleeper status just yet, but I can feel safer taking it to more places. I'd hate to come out of some place and find my car on blocks. :driving:

Haha no problem! Wheel locks are great, but are they from the GTR? :bowrofl: Surprised they didn't come with locking lugs from the factory... seems a bit odd.

To make a long story short, the general manager of the Cowles in Nissan drove my car home every day. They somehow lost the key for wheel locks.

After waiting two months for them to order me a new key, I just had them take the wheel locks off and I bought my own ($66 dollars). Some things worked out great with the dealership, that just didnt. My salesman also doesn't work there anymore. I dont know if he had something to do with it. (or if I drove him crazy :bowrofl:)

Anyway, now I am happy... my wheels are locked!

For anyone that wants to buy wheel locks, make sure you get the RIGHT ONES! I discovered on this web site that the dealerships were installing the wheel locks for the 350z. After several incidents, they came to find out that there are special wheel locks for the 370z (it has a washer, stronger material, etc).

Had a great meet yesterday - thoroughly enjoyed both the meet and the following lunch at Savage Mill (Ram's Head). Great to see those of you who showed up (Mustang, Shadoquad, ZCarMan, Pat, & Trooper) -- didn't recall the names of the Jag guy and the Yellow Neg 20 (350Z)

Sorry we missed you Toohip -- had you been there I'd of had someone to blame MY cold ......<grin>, but for now I'll have to blame it on Beaujolais and all of her "germ carrying students".....

So Steve (Mustang) did you happen to catch the dark blue Impala's attempt to leave some dark blue paint on my driver's side on the way home (95 South) yesterday afternoon....? WTF?

Hope everyone had a great rest of their weekend -- looking forward to next weekend's CruiZ down to Williamsburg....

m4a1mustang 10-10-2010 07:55 PM

Steve, yeah, I saw the Impala attempt to move you out of your lane. Z's suspension is pretty quick! :D

Sick man! I sent Jon a Text, guess he didn't get it. A cold has been circulating around the office last week and it took me out of commission this weekend. Still feeling the affects a little bit today, but made it into work anyway. Sorry I had to miss a MD weekend.

I let everyone know you were sick Lance but they were having none of that sick stuff! Rams Head was pretty good. Their special draft at 12pct alcohol was just the right prescription for what ails ya!

shadoquad 10-11-2010 10:26 AM

what is the maximum speed one would do
on track? also what is the average speed?

Compared to me driving to NY, 4 hours
with standard equipment,
why is there that much of a
difference?

i would expect the car to drive 16
hours non-stop if my body can take it.

Asphalt Ventures is running an event at VIR in November on the 28-29th and this event will focus on beginning drivers at the track. Brian from ZDayZ and Z Nationals is part of this group. Anyhow, the price is actually cheaper at 299.00 for two days with instructors. Looks like we're on the skid pad the first day for instruction, etc. then on the inside track and the next day we're on the main VIR course. Here is the link: MotorsportReg.com : Asphalt Ventures, LLC announces 2010 Tryptophan Recovery Plan (Sun 28 - Mon 29 Nov, 2010) requirements at Virginia International Raceway, Alton, VA 24520 (4687)

Let me know if you think you might want to do this.

Frank, the maximum speed one would do on the track is all dependent upon the driver and level of experience. Thats what these things are for, to teach a person how to drive their car, safely and to your fullest potential. Speed isn't in the picture until you've got the skills necessary to handle the speed with out wrapping your car around a pole (sound familiar). These track events have class room instruction and then you get an instructor to ride with you to teach you. You need the oil cooler to keep the oil from overheating at speeds which will be higher than on the highway and better brake pads to stop you when going into turns. Your stock brake pads wouldn't last more than a couple of laps before they would glaze and you would be without anything to stop you. Hope that helps answer your questions. Go on Youtube and search for Summit Point or Virginia International Raceway and you'll find videos of people tracking their cars. Also go to nasa.net or asphaltventures.com to see what it is all about.

I'm considering it Jon, although being it's Sunday and Monday may make it an impossibility with my low vacation time right now.
