Just a reminder for folks just now reading the thread, this Saturday's meet is at Gordon Biersch in Annapolis at 4pm.

1906 Towne Center Boulevard
Annapolis, MD 21401-3681

The beer is yummy, the food is yummy, and most importantly, the beer is yummy.

The place is so new that my GPS can't find the 1906 Towne Centre Boulevard address.

To save you all some time, use the address below which takes you to the entrance to Towne Centre Blvd:

2467 Riva Rd
Annapolis, MD 21401

ZCarMan 09-14-2010 08:04 PM

Patricia and I will be there.

Any NOVA folk trying to run on out to the show at the Chick-Fil-A at the Dulles Towne Center on Friday night? Depending on when I get back from MIR I want to go check it out.

There's a car show at the Chick-Fil-A at the Dulles Towne Center every Friday and I think Saturday night that I used to go to years ago. It goes on til 11 or so. I just wanted to head over there and check it out to see if it's still any good.

IF my Z is ready for pickup this Friday afternoon, I'll head over to the Chick-fil-A meet. I'll hopefully know for sure late Thursday but more likely on Friday. I'll keep ya posted!

For those who want to go and need the address for their GPS, here's ya go:

45440 Dulles Crossing Plaza
Sterling, VA

The one and only time I went there was a huge variety of cars. Muscle cars, SUV's, sports cars, and a few exotics. Steve is right, it lasts until the lights get turned off in the parking lot (around 11 PM).

It's mostly denigrated into a bunch of hellaflushers, at least past 8pm or so. I stopped going after I dealt with a bunch of VW guys that were convinced my S2k was FWD...

Damn, that sucks. I remember back around '04 it used to be a really good mix of car guys.

:bowrofl: Musta been a bad night that night. Yes, there are the ocassional dumbasses but it seemed pretty tame and a good mix back in early July. That being said, the guys over on my350z also had made plans to go that night so there was a rather large contingent of Z's and G's.

Yeah I think I'll pass if that's the case...

I mean, it varies. I had been going somewhat consistently...before 8 or so, it's not bad. After 8, the idiot quotient goes up dramatically.

Yep, that's why I posted the link earlier in this thread to the first meet with pretty much that same address.

You wont need a helmet for that thing unless you think it makes you look faster. ;-)

Gotcha....I would agree on that one. :iagree:

m4a1mustang 09-15-2010 10:59 AM

Either way it has to be better than the old 234/28 BK meets where you'd get shot.

Last time I was there, no Z's were using helmets and they were in the 13's.

Maybe they weren't enforcing? I know the helmet rules vary track to track. Some are 13.99, others are 13.50. Either way I'm more comfortable wearing one in the event I crash. :icon17:

Well, in the words of Vin Diesel, if you're granny shifting and not double-clutching like you should, you probably won't need a helmet :roflpuke2:

GM_Traitor3.5 09-15-2010 11:47 AM

I thought you had to be running 10's or 11's in the 1/4 to require a helmet? Or maybe thats for a roll cage....

Depends on the track. I think most tracks want you to have a cage once you get into the 10s.

GM_Traitor3.5 09-15-2010 12:34 PM

Well once you send that thing off to Roush, you'll need one then

shadoquad 09-15-2010 12:45 PM

He'll do great at the track. Well, great for owning the car for a short amount of time and being rusty after not drag racing for a bit.

But I bet after a few track days in teh stang, maybe after a few mods, Steve-point-oh will be running very fast times indeed!

m4a1mustang 09-15-2010 12:49 PM

My goal is a 12.7 and a low 1.9 60', but we'll see. It has been a while and I haven't done any launches in this car yet.

1.9 60' time? Man you're ambitious! Only way that's happening is if you hook up reallllly well right off the start! Throw some DOT slicks on there real quick
