So what your saying is your stang is only 0.1 seconds quicker than my Z? I think I can make up that difference lol. I'll be close until you actually get a decent run. Till then I will say my Z is only 0.1 sec slower than a 5.0 :bowrofl:

Yeah, check my album I have the time slips for all 4 of my runs. Would the limited slip even make a difference in the 1/4 mile? Would it help at all? Here's the time slip you want to see:

:icon18:

Until I get some traction... yeah :rofl2:

That's a great time, though. LSD wouldn't really help you all that much more anyways. Since the stock torque converter has a very low RPM stall point you can't launch high enough to where you'd need an LSD to help with traction. A 1.9x 60' on the stock tires is impressive, and without a high-stall torque converter you're not going to do much better with an LSD.

This is about the "perfect" run. Cool weather with big power, a quick shifting auto, and a great launch = one of the fastest stock 370 times we've seen to date.

Now, the sucky thing is, it's only going to get worse from here unless you start modding. Once the temperatures climb the power is going to drop and you'll be wondering why you can't do any better than a 13.2 :icon17:

But anyways, be proud. That's awesome.

Jeez. Those autos are damn fast.

Steve- I would bet he'd be able to launch harder with an LSD, but I've never launched an auto. I know my 6MT peglegs like a mother.

Yeah, I realized that it probably was the "perfect" run. I won't be able to match it again unless the conditions are perfect again. Probably not a good baseline to use as a comparison for each of my future mods. :roflpuke2:

I probably could get some mods that specifically would help with my 1/4 mile time (better torque converter, 4.08 gears), but I don't think I really want to do that. I'm fine with just bolt-ons and having fun driving through twisty roads.

Would a better torque converter allow me to launch at a higher RPM without getting wheel spin? What about better tires (not necessarily drag radials)? Better tires are something I could see myself realistically getting for my car.

With a high-stall torque converter I definitely believe he would, but with the stock converter I really don't think it would make a measurable difference.

Grippier tires will help if you are having traction issues right now. If not, they won't make a huge difference.

The high-stall torque convertor will allow you to launch at a higher RPM (further up in the power band). You'd likely need stickier tires but this would probably enable you to get your 60' times down to a 1.8x on a street tire and probably stick you deeper into the 12s. :)

Bottom line is you got your 12 second slip, so you have a 12 second car from here on out. Anything else you do will just make it better all around.

Awesome run dude! You're a second faster than me though

This weekend, I'm going to race Steve. And I'm gonna win, because I'm not going to tell him when the race starts, and I'm gonna wait until he's in Starbux getting coffee. Pretty sure I can make it to Red Robin before him.

Call him when you're there to tell him that the race is about to begin.
