FNG Here/ Skyline drive and GRIDLIFE

Hey Guys! I joined a while back for info on my Brand New 2016 Base 370Z I purchased before a deployment. I've purchased a few parts with my inflated income! I'm looking to spend my reintegration into society by sitting in the garage building up my car from a pile of parts!

I had a S2000 for 6 or so years and learned a lot about spirited driving and how a car should feel from it. I did a few mods but most of them were used parts or just a replacement part upgrade like a clutch or brakes. I was a civilian mechanic for 10 years, a wheeled vehicle mechanic for the Army 7 years, and currently a Crew Chief for the Army on Blackhawks for 2. I hope to see you guys around a bit. I live in Fredericksburg, VA and looking to move to Richmond in a few months or so.

Part 2 I'm curious about if you guys ever have a Skyline drive trip? I use to go with the S2KI group and I can't wait to do one with my modified Z (The Z will be my most modded car I've ever owned).

I haven't been to Skyline Drive in the Z, but did it a while back in a 1994 Pontiac Firebird Formula. It was a real blast and I would love to go back in the Z...

I would imagine that there are a few members in your area that would like to do this as well...

I've never done a skyline drive trip but have looked into it quite a few times. If we could pull a several people together from RVA, HR, and surrounding areas id be willing to go.

I know it"s something that usually goes down in fall when the leaves start turning. I would definitely be game to try and organize something or help out. I'm not very forum savvy but I'll have some free time in the future to get the ball rolling. I'll try starting a thread about it and brainstorm some ideas.

Also, it never made it to my original post but I was also curious if anyone was planning on going to GRIDLIFE?

A lot of folks run the Skyline during ZDAYZ. The event is held in mid May. I ran it a couple of years ago with a buch of GTRs. It was awesome!

IM going to ZDAYZ...leaving Friday early morning...leaving from Chesapeake, I see there are 25 people registered from Va. going...Im sure in the coming weeks there will be more. I got the last room at Tuskeegee motel. Let me know if your going and like to caravan down.

I just registered for ZdayZ full weekend pass and put in for reservations at Topoco lodge. My post deployment line up is about full. I'm also doing the Carolina Rebellion in early May plus GRIDLIFE in June. Now I have a date to shoot for to have my car all put together.

Come to Dominion Raceway next weekend. At least two of us in the instructors group will be there in our 370Zs, hanging out with 350Z buddies as well.
