I put 305-35-19 on stock nismo wheels with stock 245s up front i had no issues and 295 would be fine

If u go slightly wider like he wants to 285 to 295, that should be fine. Now if he goes any wider than 295 than he would need wider wheels. At least that's what I've read. I have 255 all around...

Long as you are within the 3% of height difference. If you are going with 245/40-19, 295/30-19, You're close at 2.7% Once you get to the 3% difference. Your dash lights will light up.

I think the OP is asking if there is a preferred proportion between width of the front and width of the back tires. NISMO stock tires are 245/285, or the fronts are ~86% as wide as the rears. ...
