Without topz kit I am not sure you can even get accurate AIT from OBDII, since the MAFs are pre-cooler (But you will be able to read what the ECU thinks the AIT is). ECU is probably pulling timing...

I've also had a similar experience with Z1, its like after you pay for a part you don't matter anymore. The communication is just not there nor is there a want to communicate on their side. Oh well..
