Not sure but i believe only recalls are covered out of warranty. If this is just a TSB (technical service bulletin) then most likely may not be covered. Maybe if enough people complain to nissan...

Got an update from my dealership. The fix is being designed in Japan. Apparently they have created the fix which they describe as "working superbly". But unfortunately they are still validating it...
