That's exactly what I use mine for, it's a great place to keep a gun where you can get your hands on it quickly and unless someone knew the compartment was there they would never find it.

It seems fine to me. I plan to keep using it as long as my dealer continues to give me free oil changes without charging extra for the Ester oil. :)

1 - Nissan Ester oil 2 - No (I've only got 6800 miles on the car and the oil has been changed once so far)
