Flexible hoses used in industry are implemented to reduce and isolate vibration and harmonics. I wouldnt just assume the product is crap because it has flexible braided hoses.

I have short tails and feel no difference in power. Muffler deletes have been shown to dyno a 3hp gain (Muffler deletes and short tails are the same idea).
