For free carfax, post a sale on eBay using the VIN. It's free to post a classified, so you can just delete it after you get the carfax results.

Yeah, great thread lol. I feel compelled to contribute: I keep my Jeep Rubicon's insurance papers under the carpet in the trunk. My Rubicon's been broken into half a dozen times. The glove box...

Because doing donuts in an empty parking lot doesn't leave any preventable tire marks? How would you feel if someone were to be doing donuts on your driveway? It's no different from a business'...

yah, ive had cops ask for 'where's your front plate?' and i told him in the trunk. they were more than happy to go back there with me to open the trunk and see for themselves. i was never cited...

I say just let people do what they want instead of making big scenes. I always keep my papers in the glove box for sure. But it doesn't bother me if someone wants to put their own under their trunk...

yah, that is odd... first thing most cops asks for is driver's license... then insurance. in my state, they dont even ask for registration on regular cars.
