I would suggest tinting the whole front window with 70% or 80% ceramic tint. It will help protect the new dash. I would not put anything on the dash. Those coatings tend to trap heat in the dash and...

I was around 7k RPM on 4th gear and was about to shoot it to 5th but I accidently shot it to 3rd. Engine screamed and I felt terrible. But nothing happened afterward. VQs are pretty solid engine.
