Thanks for answering back. Another question, where did you purchase the 3 piece lip kit and side blades? Plus, can you show some pics of how you have it all in installed.

OptionZero 02-13-2017 01:52 PM

Carbon signal

You have to PM them or email them, can't order thru a website because it's 1998

Just some eye candy to look at until its all back together. Worked on it this past weekend and pretty much did everything i need to before slapping it back in. Will tie up some odds and ends today and be ready to drop it back in Friday night or Sat morning. Hope to be back together this weekend.

Hoisting it out, engine and tranny. Simple process with the core removed.

Once that hunk of metal is out there isn't a whole lot left to see.

I cheated and worked through most of the day without pictures. But here is most of what can be done out of the car. There were a couple lines and hoses attached after these but thats pretty much it.

Steering Rack shims, LOADS better than the straight cut GTM spacers that were raw steel. I actually had my old GTM ones modified with an angle, glad to see these aluminum ones came with that fix already accounted for.

If you've ever looked inside some of the competitions piping, you will know that this is not the norm. Top notch work.

Congrats man, looking forward to the dyno sheets and youtube video.

Canolinumber1 02-21-2017 07:26 PM

The kit from fast intentions is such eye candy. You are gonna run uprev or ecutek?

With some time and patients it's really not hard. Once the engine is out, it's right in your face. I did a GTM kit with the engine still in. Pain in the butt to reach some things, but still not impossible to do.

ufoz8mycow 03-05-2017 09:00 PM

Any updates on this beast? Looking forward to seeing it all together!

DPE G 03-06-2017 10:09 PM

I'll post pictures later. It's all together, waiting to get my ECU back from Uprev that crashed not once, but twice, while flashing a base ROM. Some sort of software update glitch. Should be back tomorrow for first startup.

TerribleONE 03-07-2017 12:02 AM

Already sold it. Went back to the OEM bar.

DPE G 03-07-2017 11:29 AM

Ok, so I slacked big time on updating as I went so here it is all at once.

Dropping it back in with the help of a couple buddies.

OEM Seat heater wires were there, so I de-pinned the green 12v & ground and soldered my EBC wires to them. No cutting on the OEM harness this way.

Under the cowl or the switch panel? I got the switch panel idea from a GTM build from years ago.

How does it hold in place? Custom mount/bracket?

DPE G 03-07-2017 08:36 PM

Cut out a flat piece of an old hatch panel, heated it up and bent some tabs to mount to the switch pod screw holes.

Why did you end up switching back?

DPE G 03-29-2017 01:48 PM

Short answer is it didn't fit, I didn't have anyone nearby to modifiy it the way I would have liked. Also the burn pattern on mine was bland and dull. Overall was not a fan of the way it fit or looked.

DPE G 04-01-2017 04:08 PM

Swapped from the newer style 3" straight through mid section that Motordyne sells now since it was way too loud and I didn't particularly like the tone. Got my hands on an old style x-muffler only and had it fabbed up locally. Much quieter and deeper. Hard to tell from a video, but here it is.

Old set up sounded like my old man sleeping. New setup sounds much better.

Tomorrow she goes to Z1 to see what kind of numbers Jon can squeeze out of it. One last tweak was having the ARC catch can cut up and re-welded with AN fittings on it that actually fit properly instead ill fitting hoses with fake "AN" calmps. Also I know it's been asked before with no straight answer but yes the can is baffled. Found out when it was cut open.

As much as I love this car, the GT-R bug has bit, and my wife has given me the go ahead, so potentially all of the parts will be listed for sale soon if anyone is interested.

Can I call dibs on the carbon signal lip and side skirts?
