Hey I'm subscribing to this build thread too. It just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see it go out and see what it can do. I am going to TMP this weekend to watch the last CSCS again. I was out with my 370 at TMP a few weeks ago and saw some crazy cars.

I was suppose to show up this weekend at the last CSCS event but something changed and I haven't really touch the Z since over a week now.

I'm ready to move the Z to a dedicated garage where I will be able to work on the Z and pull the engine for some modding. Because I cant do this in my driveway due to rules and regulation on base military housing.

Next project !

It seem like I pulled the trigger on the next winter project.
Some parts should be home in the next couple weeks ! :)

What does that thing do!?!

Awesome build and ability! I'm on track to do that same things but keep it watered down exterior wise!

I've been told that thing is slightly better than a Turbonator !
It will also blow more air in than a leaf blower !!!

I couldn't resist to order that awesome part !

thank you and good luck on your project ;)

What material are you using for the splitter?

carlitos_370z 09-22-2014 06:54 AM

Turbo!!!! hell yeah

gbrettin 09-22-2014 07:59 PM

Very cool work sir. I'm planning on working with carbon fiber parts in the near future. I'm super excited to watch the build.

Can you tell me any more information about the radiator placement? It looks like it would be really efficient tilting it forward like that. I think the C7 and other race cars do that too.... yeah more info would be good.

thanks. I am hoping to build my car out very similar to Megan Ver. 1 and start tracking her. I think you are doing amazing work with Ver. 2 can't wait to see where she goes.

Megan370z 09-27-2014 09:25 PM

cool update!

I got a new place where to store and work on Megan!
There is a few shop tooling that will be useful this winter ;)

My 2nd working location which is much better than working under a cheap car shelter !!! I hope this will increase my motivation to work on Megan atleast.

A must project that needs to be done ASAP is to relocate the power steering pump where the A/C use to be. I should have the main bracket done tomorrow.

Megan370z 09-28-2014 08:32 PM

Power Steering pump relocation

The main bracket is done. Now I just need to make a belt tensioner which isn't gonna be a hard task!

I keep forgetting I have an HR now because the VHR has an extra idle pulley which would be useful at this moment.
I'm pretty sure I can bolt on the VHR bracket to get that extra idle pulley to have a proper belt engagement on the crank pulley.
Will see tomorrow

Masterbeatty 09-28-2014 09:43 PM

Have you looked into an electric pump or a electric power steering conversion? It might be less of a head ache and being able to shift the weight somewhere else. Plus the reduced drag on the engine.

I did look into an electric solution but this will have to wait due to the cost involved. Not that it cost a lot but I don't have that extra money and making that relocation bracket took me about an hour.

I'm pretty sure the VHR pulley bracket will bolt right on the HR timing cover if it doesn't I will do a part list of that electric solution but this still has to wait for a while !

Megan370z 09-29-2014 08:05 PM

I think this pulley setup is better than the previous picture I posted. ;)

the double pulley bracket is from the VHR on the HR timing cover.

Megan370z 10-13-2014 06:26 PM

I received some parts for the new 2014/2015 setup last week and I had some motivation during the weekend to start on the future F/I exhaust.

the driver side is a bit tight with that steering column right in the way which required a bit of work to get it and then the passenger side was quite easier.

the next step tomorrow is to pull the engine to start relocating some piping such as the fuel and power steering pipes and then look for the proper location to drill a 4'' hole into the firewall !!

edit: also you should see the radiator I got ! it should be interesting. Im modifying it to a 3-pass and its a 2.75''core. 18.5'' x 29'' x 2.875''

Christmas came early. Now you need some elves to put it together.

Megan370z 10-30-2014 09:33 PM

New work bench will make it less frustrating to look for a tool
Its quite an upgrade from my previous small tools box that I should have bought a long time ago but was limited by my available space.

Almost done with setting up the new location for the engine and then I will start on the new transmission mount !

Good grief Megan. How did you get that much clearance to
Move it that get back? What's that like 5 inches?

Actually the pictures angle isn't the same and it look like I moved the engine by 4-5 inch which isn't true.

The engine was moved back by only 2.350''
The firewall only received some love from an hammer at one location to push in some metal by about 1/2'' inch to get some clearance for the driver water piping.
Im finishing up on the transmission mount as we speak.
