Zdayz was an absolute blast as always. The FI family was rolling DEEP this year. Great seeing old faces again and new faces for the first time.
If you couldn't make it this year, hope to see you next time!

We had a few epic runs this year, especially in the wet. The GTRs and Dan's R8 tried to gap me but couldn't get away!

No doubt. There were several but that one was the best of all three. I wish I could have found one with Mikes car in frame too

That would have been totally bad ***. Next year we need to strategize on some photo opportunities.

Thank you the family is all health and well as I hope yours it too. ZDAYZ is going to be awesome as usual. My car looks a lot more like yours than ever before. Hoping to get a handful of track days in between now and then. 80 track days in three year is nothing more than AMAZING!!!!

Just wanted to stop by and say great build! Hotrodz mentioned you on the phone. I'm just really surprised how well the 370s can hold up with track use. I'm definitely planning on Zdayz next year. Are you going to Z Nationals this year?

Here's a quick video of Hotrodz and I during our April session back in AZ.

Thanks Carlitos, glad you enjoyed it! It's not really an even comparison since all I had were "mild" bolt ons (motordyne XYZ w/res paired with a Tomei for the rear section, SB Stage 2 w/a steel flywheel for heat, and a tune). I feel it showed that an NA car can keep up in the corners, while the FI car can go on the straights. Either way, it was great fun and I'm pretty happy that my own car did what it did. I'm actually going to try and sync my video with Hotrodz. It was disappointing that Bob was ahead on the straights by 4-5 car lengths. lol I hate you Hotrodz. :roflpuke2:

@DJTodd, didn't mean to sidetrack your thread!

Most likely one of the best options imo. If I weren't running a Tomei, I would be running a FI setup for sure (on the hunt for a 14 so I can boost it). Still couldn't believe that the rear OEM Nismo exhaust section alone was roughly 40 lbs. On the Tomei it was 17 lbs all together up to the y pipe. Yup, track days are fun especially when you have other Zs to drive with.

:iagree::iagree::iagree: do you have pics of your Nismo 350z? I love those Nismo's bro unfortunately they never arrive to Puerto Rico :(

Hey Josh,
What did you use for your 3in. front brake duct backing plate? Did you downsize it? I have the finite Nismo carbon brake ducts for my bumper and I am trying to figure out what to get for the backing plate.

I didn’t use a backing plate. Just 4 rivets through the duct and bumper, with a washer on the backside of the bumper.

Most of the pressure is pushing them into place, and it’s never been a problem.

How did you fix the hose to vent through the rotor? Just tied it in place with zip ties?

I made a new backing plate with a 3” inlet. The easiest way though is to just cut the existing g dust shield and river on an off the shelf duct flange. Summit/Amazon/jegs Sell them for cheap.

Just went through all 180+ posts of your thread. What an amazing car, with the right modifications and good thinking behind the choices you make. Congrats and keep it up!

Cool, I will do like you and wait for my TT install to be completed and then install everything. I need to put new steels on my front rotors anyway.

Spooler 09-11-2019 03:56 PM

Josh,
I am trying to figure out what StopTech Trophy brakes you used for your car and if they will fit my wheels. I need to upgrade mine. I need some more stopping power.

All I can find is 6 piston fronts and 2 piston rears. Is this what you have?

If you go to their website you will find them there. Also check out the overstocked section. The are no deals on the fronts but I believe there are some for the 4 piston rears.
