Thanks! The nice things is, all of the crazy aero (minus the wing) can be removed in just a few minutes to put it back in street trim.
I'm using all dzus fasteners, so its all super easy to pull off. |

Oh HELL ya!!!! Nice work bro.
|
nice work, are you an engineer?
|
Last I heard from Aeromotions they dont sell the base anymore. Do they have them again?
|
Must. They may not sell the stratosphere (17"). I got the 12". Arrived in less than a week.
I can put you in touch with the guy I purchased through if you're interested. |

Your work is amazing and I love the functionality of it all. Will be unveiling at ZDAYZ????:tup::tup:
|
Yep. well, the weekend before at GTA, but it will still be in track trim at zdayz. At least when it gets there. I wont have time to do anything besides wash it (on the trailer) after GTA
|
Very cool! I still in to make the trip so I look forward to meeting you and seeing your handy work up front and personal.
Also, is the amount of down force adjustable, as it well impact your top in on high speed course with long straightaways? The mothar of dialing in a high speed race car for the best of both worlds! |
according to nissan the sports package z doesn't produce any front or rear lift. you're saying there's substantial lift. why the discrepancy?
|
you going to pull the side mirrors off?
|
DJTODD's Journal - 2012 370z Nismo
Under 60 it's about zero, above 100 it's definitely generating positive lift. It's really no surprise though. Almost all cars (even sports cars) generate lift from the factory. Once dropped a little over an inch, the nismo generates a bit if downforce, but nothing overly substantial.
That wasn't a big surprise though. At high speed the rear end was light, and definitely squirrelly under braking. |

Going to replace them with the smaller aftermarket ones as soon as I can get my hands on em. |

It's adjustable, but not dynamically adjustable on track. Class rules won't allow it. If I ever move up to unlimited I'll add aeromotions' dynamic controller. Which gives great downforce when you want it, top end when you don't. |
Very cool...I look forward to your to your results and reviews.
|
Great build, let me know if you still have and of those N/A parts that you want to get rid of.
|
So, its the mad dash to get everything ready for GTA. I'll be posting a bunch of updates as things come back together. Got a few things back from paint today. nom nom.
Hatch is back and will be going on tonight. Dampers should be back tomorrow. Stance USA really stepped up bigtime. ProComps. Two sets of springs, 18/12k and 20/14k. In case you didnt know, stance-usa = touge factory. I had no idea. Those guys are awesome. Give David a call. They really know their ****. The hood turned out pretty good. I wish I had more time to bodywork it, but its good enough for racecar :) http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...-19-021327.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...24685944-n.jpg ^That's pollen btw not swirl. Everything is yellow! http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...00988644-n.jpg Also got some new rubber for GTA. I had to give the TDs a try. 80 treadwear! They are a bit smaller, but everyone Ive talked to said a 295 TD will outperform a 315 NT01, so we will see. If anything Im sacrificing a bit of straight line traction for improved corner speeds, which is perfect for Road A. http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...35935135-n.jpg Front ducts came out amazing. But holy hell routing the hoses with a TT kit in the way is CRAMPED. http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...11101745-n.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...21477176-n.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...46064362-n.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/djtod...44888245-n.jpg As you can see, those last pics also show the new rotor rings. Like jewelry on a gangster. The old ones were toast, and I had to step down a size to fit 18s anyway. Too bad they cant stay that clean :) I'll also be testing a MONSTER front bar for a local race team that is starting to make parts for the 370. Can't post pics yet, but its massive...at least twice as stiff as the whiteline or hotchkis. And it bolts right up to the factory mounting points. Should be exciting. More to come soon! |
Nice work man
|
daaaamn! I  over my desktop hahahaha!!!
|
Nice! DJ, you using 3" hose for the brake ducts?

You know, I'm really starting to dislike you. :yum::yum: :icon17:

Where did you get the Hankook TD? Tire rack doesnt list them and discount has none available. Good looking tire.
|
Either go through a hankook dealer, or ventustd.com.
They are awesome. No other treaded tire comes close. Maybe when the r888r is available stateside, but otherwise the tds are the business Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Super quick update. Will do a big one in the next few days.
Another gta road Atlanta is in the books. Had an absolute blast and the car ran awesome. It sounds better than I could ever have hoped as well. Apart from a few timing snafus and one balled up frs, the event went off without s hitch. Canada came down and kicked ***. Some seriously fast guys up there. The new aero actually ended up being very balanced. I'll probably add some aoa in the rear once I get the dive planes finished up front. The hood really helped keep temps under control. It was scorching hot Saturday and I never saw oil temps over 220, or water temps over 1/2 of the range. There's a LOT of pics coming out, but here are a few that a local buddy sent me. I will have some video up soon as well. The in car video really captured the new exhaust setup well. Turn your volume up! http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...467f11da91.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...58d2d9e4ce.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/05...44ddcb57eb.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Your car look so aggressive...I love it and can't wait to see it in person as well as meet you. :tiphat:
|
awesome work dude!!! can wait to see that video
|
looks like you made the switch to NT03's too. Have any rubbing issues with the 295s on there? Is there room for more tire?
Lookin good! |
DJTODD's Journal - 2012 370z Nismo
Yeah I ended up having to buy a set last minute when forgestar failed to have my order ready in time. I really like them now. They are 18x10.5 +30 square. The 295s fit easily and no rubbing at all. There's still tons of room.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Btw, the td 295s are wider than 305re11s. How bout dem apples.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Big meats. Lol. I really wanted to sell my te37s for 18x10 sl's but having a hard time biting the bullet. Have been considering the nt03s though
|
Car looks awesome Josh. Cant wait for the video.
