Subd.
My bank account is in serious jeopardy looking at at this build. |
Quick Video. I'll probably put together a longer one, but I know I get tired of watching other people lap after lap, so....here's 1 lap. Wasn't my fastest, but it was one of the better videos. The opening sunrise shot was dumb luck.
Turn your volume UP! :driving: |
Damn i want to see the video now soo bad... but im in the office right now :(
Anyway I added the video to my watch later list:stirthepot: |
Badass!!!!!!!!

Are you taking about the lyfe guys? Cole and Kyle really bring the heat every year.
Off topic...wtf about miller Motorsports park?! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I dunno why but even with all the action shots I've seen of the car so far, this one still catches my eye.

NASA and all other events will run the normal schedule for the year and we shall see what falls out in Oct. I don't know much as of now and probably will just get bits and pieces thourghout the year but, was told that 2016 NASA season looked like it was going to be a go and not to panic. I can't see a 100 mill facility being mothballed, so if Miller Group bows out I gotta believe someone will pick it up. Definitely puts my aspersions for Spec Z on the shelf for the year. And yes Cole and Kyle and Greg Valdez. |
Oh forgot to ask about the TD's? Good grip and wear?
|
Grip...Ohhh yeah.
Wear...we'll see. I expect I will get 10-12 days out of them during summer. It was crazy hot this weekend and they got pretty warm. They wear like what I would expect an 80 treadwear super soft compound tire I suppose. You can get them in 3 different compounds. I got the softest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
looking great! what kinds of times did you run?
|
My best was a low 1:37. The car has tons of time left in it. I'm definitely the slowest part of the package :)

One of the great things about an event as large as GTA/FD RA is the quality of photographers that attend.
The photographers have started posting their work, and as expected, some fantastic stuff this year. http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...psaanoaiz9.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...5_ETA%2035.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/..._ETA%20119.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...Snaps_0778.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...Snaps_0169.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...Snaps_0570.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/..._ETA%20137.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...a/DSC_3384.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...a/DSC_4295.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...TL_2015-64.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...Snaps_0722.jpg http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/...Snaps_0725.jpg |

Awesome pictures!
I'm thinking about building a front splitter to mount on my front lip. Curious how you reinforced the front bumper for the stays? How are you dealing with fuel starvation? |

Funny guy over here!
Go fast turn left go fast turn left go fart turn left! The splitter rods are rigidly mounted to the front crash bar. It's just square aluminum tube and 1/4-20 all thread Also, for now I'm just riding around with 160lbs of fuel. I originally thought to use Charles's rrp, it wouldn't flow enough. Now the plan is to convert to a fuel cell and big external pump over the winter. It's all here in the garage but no time to work on it during the busy season :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

ah yikes. I thought the RRP was upgradable up to 740lph though? couldn't imagine needing more than that. |
The new one may be, honestly I haven't kept up. But when we had the discussion, the RRP was using a special walbro 255 which was not interchangeable with larger pumps.
|
Looks like a whole lota fun man. Great job!
What spring rates are you running? I noticed you weren't using a rear helper spring also because I have the same coilovers. |

Some day I will get to drive Road Atlanta! :driving: |

What up....:tiphat:

Lol how goes it sir?
I'm still here, just crazy work and family over the summer. Things should be settling down a bit soon. Lemons race in a few weeks :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Hi DJTODD...I would like to get your insight regarding your SPL suspension parts.
Recently I put Z1 rotors and lightweight HRE wheels on my Z and the results are AMAZING! The handling and the ability for the wheels to stick to the road have been greatly improved by what I assume is the reduction in the unsprung weight. If I were to go to the extent you did with the amount of SPL suspension parts installed, would this significantly further the improvement I have seen so far? I am also planning on getting some KW (or similar) adjustable coilovers so I can tune the suspension as well. Would the improvement be worth the cost for a street car? |
Right on...life happens and it all good!!! I have nothing to report as I haven't seen my Z since ZDAYZ. It's been at summer camp at Specialty Z. Hopefully I will be getting her back in the next week or two.

Bumping this awesome thread!
Any updates on your track monster? |

Yeah sorry for the dead air.
Not a lot going on. Made new flat bottom and diffuser in my down time, but most of my effort lately has been on building a couple of lemons cars. Two z32s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Looking around for hoods right now to keep temps down. How did you go about making your vents? took a dremel to town after maping it out?

Yep. Then a torch and sheet metal pliers, then tacked little endplates on each fin. That was the most tedious part by far. I was debating making some molds and selling cf/frp versions of the vents. Think anyone be interested? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
I think there would be much interest, I contacted a company in California that makes inserts for Corvettes, BMW and a few others. They said they will be making vents for us in the near future as they are getting a lot of inquiries. I love to keep my Fugi hood for show and modify my oem hood for go time at the track.

Awesome build, I'm still catching up on it. Looking into eventually jumping into GTA myself. |
See you at ZDayZ!
