Glad the right products were used in the prep. I've worked on enclosures and know how much of a pita bondo can be. Expecially when you put the final paint coat on.

damn I wanns go. Its like ten minutes away from my place lol

ilive2win 10-30-2010 12:29 PM

^^we are going to be in a rush tomorrow cuz i have to get back to sd asap for a game my fiance has. she has her own car though but maybe on the way back down we can meet up for lunch or something so you can check it out

there are some issues that need to be addressed with the locks. it looks good, like really good, but a problem that he is having is when the car turns off, the doors unlock automatically, meaning, now when you turn off the car, both doors open by themselves. its not a major deal but its something that has to get addressed. right now everything is rigged into the stock fob. he wants to try using an external remote somehow. im not sure how he is going to do it but we'll see

ilive2win 10-31-2010 02:55 PM

so i headed up to fontana early this morning to get some updated pix of my ssr's for simota1 because im selling them to him and i promised him updated pix. i was supposed to pick the car up today but the rain has delayed my doors and the passanger side had to be redone cuz the rain messed the clearcoat i guess. also the new external remote has to be installed so my doors dont open when the car turns off. the driver door looks amazing though, specially in person. these are the pix i got this morning and this is how he car sits right now

It looks F-ing beautiful....What wheels are you going with next ?

Smallywood 10-31-2010 03:33 PM

Looks great! Good luck with the lock issue too.

christian370z 10-31-2010 04:05 PM

That looks plain awesome, I cannot wait to see the fully finished shots! Do you think it would be easier to just install an aftermarket alarm system so that you can control the locks with that rather than trying to work around the stocker? The only thing I would be nervous about is paint overspray since the rest of the car is not masked off at all.

well, you dont need to have an aftermarket alarm, but it is best to get an aftermarket 2 channel remote (just remote, not an alarm system), that way you can open the driver door with one button and the passanger side with the other. the 2 channel remote will fix the unlocking problem.

the entire car was covered, but i uncovered or unmasked it to get some pix haha, so they have to remask the car, which isnt hard to do.

Ah, I see why it is a bit challenging to set it up that way. I figured it looked like the masking was torn off since you probably ripped it apart like a christmas present to look at it, I know I would have!

Boost_lee 10-31-2010 11:19 PM

amazing outcome, so clean!

yup thats exactly what i did haha, and hopefully this new remote will work without any problems

thanks guys for the comments

2theextreme 11-01-2010 07:47 AM

Very nice!

KaienZ34 11-01-2010 08:06 AM

Am i correct in thinking that he would need the whole car to do this, so that the door gap could be lined up right. Now i need to take a trip to Cali hahahaha

ilive2win 11-01-2010 10:19 AM

ya, he would need the whole car to run the emergency cable, to make sure it lines up right, to make sure the doors open and close properly... he just needs the car lol
