I guess there is really no excuse except immured and want a new toy lol. Kris you have to find me those sa55m's in black/red haha. It sucks they don't make them. I'm probably going with invidias full exhaust, kw coils and a set of sa55m's but what intake should I go with and who can do a pro tune in so cal?

Sorry had the day off and been looking at parts for the gvb all day lol

djpathfinder 10-17-2011 09:48 PM

Are you looking at 18" or 19"? SA55M are nice. So are SA60M

What is gvb?

ilive2win 10-18-2011 12:05 AM

I'm looking at the 18's but I'm going to go aggressive. I made the mistake of going with 19's with the evo

Do the sa60m's come in black/red or did they stop those too?

Gvb is the chassis code for the sedan. Grb is the hatch 08+

What were you unhappy with with 19" and the Evo?

Oh, I thought the STi sedan was still a "GR" body...I'm behind the times.

I believe gr stands for the third generation sti, not the chassis code

The 19 inch wheels didnt handle like the 18's do on the evo. The 18's feel a lOt better to me on the evo. It's probably the same for the sti

Everyone needs new toys. I sold my z for a 135i (n54) and certainly enjoy the turbo and torque. Nick (esfourteen) prob had me in mind when he mentioned your gonna love tq.

My 135 is pretty damn fast and I ran into a built motor sti hatch with an fp red on e85 and the thing was an absolute monster. Sounds beautiful as well.

He's gotta be on the forums plate is v8killa from NY and has cambered out ssr's I believe. Def a super hot car done right.

Good luck

19's would probably look good on the STi especially if lowered, but not at the cost of hindering function and handling.

19's do look good but I want it to handle. I'm sticking to 18's this time lol. The z sale is pending. Hope I can get into the sti next week. I found a '12 sedan here that I have my eye on

djpathfinder 10-19-2011 09:17 PM

Good luck with the sale. You'll like the STi. You'll miss some of the amenities that the Z has though (at least I do), like push button start, touch button lock/unlock, true auto on/off headlights, nicer leather and a flippin' back up cam. Not a simple add-on b/c the head unit doesn't have an aux video input jack. The STi is easier to heel-toe shift (smoother) though I find. But, the steering could be a bit firmer.

My mods are slowly trickling in. :-)

Heard the ones in other countries come with the start button and leather recaros... the US always gets screwed over. How do you like the seats, I sat in a '11 sedan and it wasn't supportive at all... The seats in the Evo are much better.

When you get your STi might as well just continue this thread, since it's turning into a STi thread anyways.. hahaha

No kidding! Europe and Asia get push button and leather?

You're right. The Z seats are more supportive. The STi seats could use an adjustable lumbar support as well. That said, I was disappointed with the GT-R seats too, and the STi seats are no worse than those.

I think I will keep the thread open for the sti build and I'll make another one on the subi forum. Wouldnt it be funny if I got another car though haha. All this for the sti and end up with something else

As for the seats, I think they all suck (except the evos recaros). That's why they make aftermarket bride's

wtf, the '12s are already arriving?

i've been consdering thesame idea lol...Rin is basically done, I might as well use some journal space for the WRX :rofl2: but I feel bad talking about it in the Z journal area.

djpathfinder 10-21-2011 07:02 PM

We should all start new journals until AK gives us the boot. Ha ha.

Yup I knew '12's were about to arrive when I ordered mine, but considering nothing major has changed btw 11 and 12 other than no more blacked out headlight housing and better designed stereo/nav interface with larger screen, it wasn't worth passing up the $2000 year end incentive. I prefer the older headlight housing anyway, though the new nav screen is so much bigger.

On a different note, I will install Rally Armor mudflaps this weekend and I ordered a functional shark fin antenna to replace the long stock one. Check out this link:
VG Shark Fin Antenna - Home
They paint it body color for you. Haven't seen anyone with this on iwsti but thought I'd try it out. Should be getting it in 2-3 weeks.
