Update:
Had my second tune done yesterday with Intec Racing. The tuner has very extensive knowledge of the VQ. He was quite skeptical of the Z1 manifold and told me he didn't believe the porting would make a big difference. Needless to say, he was shocked with the outcome and believes in the product. Car made 331whp and 268 ft lbs of torque, it gained power all across the band. The car runs amazing and having a 2 hour drive to and from, the difference was extremely noticeable. Baseline run before the tune was 309whp. A drop from my last tune of 317whp. Parts added were the Z1 manifold and FI LTH. Wheels are also larger now than the OEM sport rays. The hunt for 340 whp is still on. Once I get some time to have the clutch, flywheel, and hd csc installed, I'm hoping to free up some weight from the drivetrain. |
Just went through this whole thread (again) and man I'm sad you're selling this beast
|
It's been a fun build, Rich. I don't think the car will sell. It will take someone special to buy it. I go back and forth daily on selling it.
I'm currently looking at a restored 76 Datsun 280Z as a daily. I may just keep the Z and continue building her. She is a fun car and I enjoy the **** out of her. Plus I just registered for NissanFest 2015, haha. |
I've got some goodies on the way. I'll be updating with some new mods shortly :)
|
I was sad to see your fs thread but the news of new parts coming in puts a big *** smile on my face again:tup:
|
Yes sir, I have decided to hang just a little bit. The season is here and I get so many negative reactions from people regarding selling/parting out, that it makes me fell bad and guilty haha. I have the following in route or sitting in my garage:
Z1 motorsports: -Silicone Radiator Overflow hoses (red) -Silicone Brake Booster hoses (red) -Silicone Front PCV hoses (red) Seibon: -CF A Pillars Fly1 Motorsports: -CF Roof Cap Mishimoto: -Silicone couplers (black) -Stainless steel hose clamps The Retrofit Source: -Morimoto RGB Halos with controller -STI-R 3" Etched "Z" lens -LEDs for demon eye New Set of headlights to mod and a new Accuair 5 gallon tank for powder coat. Also, I need to trim the lip on the inside of my CF fenders. See if I can't utilize my 15mm Ichiba bolt on spacers I have left over. Fingers are crossed, but I think I may run into the front bumper with my tire. Worth a shot though, to go a bit more aggressive in the front end. |
Could it have been me? :icon17: crazy list! Cant wait to see it all done
|
cant wait to see the STI-R 3" Etched "Z" lens and the rest of the list:rock:
|
I'm stoked to get back to modding the lady. I am going to start tonight with the A pillars!
|
Thread is outdated... Let's see those Pillars! :nutswinger:
|
Pictures are beginning to pop up from XXX yesterday. I will have some new pics here shortly, along with a shoot I did yesterday for Avant Garde!
|
Im so happy to hear youre keeping it at least for now! Definitely made my day to read that. And yea man it would take the rigjt person to buy it and for 50 percent of what you got in it. Screw that ****

The last two things I need to figure out are the doors and the rear quarter panels. Considering the possibility of shipping the car off to Fly1 and having it all done at the end of the year. Potentially making the hips a little wider as well. Front end is already widebody...so why not?
|
I was stoked to get my roof and UPS crushed my dreams. She was damaged but is being taken care of by Lohit at Fly1. Can't thank him enough for the support! Just a minor set back for now.
|
Lohit is the man! And you will definitely be pleased with their work, Lohit and Nelson are both really good people.
|
I always am pleased with their products and communication. The roof cap was absolutely beautiful, UPS needs to head the Fragile labels!
|
Scored some Z1 Light weight front rotors today! Just need some rears now :p
|
I splurged a bit today, lol.
-Z1 rear 2 piece rotors -stoptech pads -Z1 stainless brake lines -Motul RBF 600 brake fluid Figured I might as well knock it all out! |
Sweet!
|
I am dropping the new headlights and all the goodies from TRS off on Friday to be modded. I will hopefully have them installed and wired up in a week or two.
Got the word from Fly1 that the replacement roof is out of the mold and will be shipping out again next week. Checklist of things to be done before NissanFest -New modded lights -New powdercoated Accuair Tank -New CF Roof -New CF hatch -Z1 and Mishimoto hosing -Z1 rotors, Lines, and Stoptech pads Got about a month and a half before the show. Should be plenty of time to get most, if not all of it completed. |
A few additional parts I've scored over the last week for the 2015 update and refresh :)
-Seibon VSII Carbon Fiber Hood -3GS Customs one off AccuAir controller A Pillar -Custom Red stitched Carbon Fiber OEM steering wheel with modified handles I'll be putting in some good work this weekend. Installing all the brake components and the headlights. The new hood will arrive Monday and I should have it on the same day. |
Unfortunately my new hood arrived with a nice spider crack in it. UPS is the worst shipping company in the world. This is twice in a row for me and they will no longer have any of my business.
|
Yea f ups in the A. Not a fan... I'm glad to see you went with the vs11 tho. I love mine. I think the amuse body lines go really well with it

Luciano, I already sold my hood to a buddy of mine locally.
The shipper fortunately filed a claim. hopefully it pans out, but I doubt it. I will probably end up raped nearly $500 for a reclear and a sand. |

I hate when deliveries go bad:shakes head: |
This weekend was hectic and fun, was able to get the following done:
-Z1 Rotors -Z1 Stainless Brake lines -Z1 Stainless clutch line -Stoptech Street pads -Flushed the brake and clutch master cylinder with Motul RBF 600 -New retrofitted headlights I am hoping to knock the roof out this week and hopefully the hatch. Then have to swap the air tank for the new 5 gallon powder coated tank |

UPS is a piece of **** company in my eyes. I ordered a baby's crib not long ago and UPS delivered it while I was at work. The wiseguy left the 75lbs package sitting on the hood of my truck parked out in the driveway, it caused some scuff on my hood. Why someone think it's funny to leave a heavy *** box that size on someone's vehicle is beyond me  |
Yes, Lohit really hooked it up. The new roof is being delivered by a private company on the 14th. They delivered both my first hood and the amuse kit in flawless condition.
Tonight I was able to get the AMAZING Accuair A pillar from 3GS Customs installed. It's one bad *** piece and one of my favorite custom mods so far. The T30 torx bit I have didn't work on the steering wheel. So I am going to try to source another tomorrow to finish the new cf steering wheel. Seibon hood was finished today with a wetsand and Euro UV coat. Picking that up tomorrow. Has to cure for a week and then I can do a final wetsand and buff. pictures will be coming. NissanFest fest is on the 26th. I'd rather do it justice with high quality pics. All I have is a Galaxy S5 lololol. |
Received my new roof cover today and to much excitement it was not damaged! Big thanks to Fly1 for getting me a replacement so quickly!
|
In for pics!

Getting closer to NissanFest!
Body shop was a bit worried about sanding my hood so early. It worried me too, so I went with a contingency plan. I got another hood, lol. Problem being, I've fallen for in love with the new hood. Went with the VIS AMS Style CF hood. Tackled the hood, fly1 roof, and removed the oem hatch. Broke a damn oem hinge for the hatch. An expensive setback. Having a set overnighter and will hopefully receive them on Tuesday morning at the latest. I'll update again soon, hopefully with a completed car! |
Great progress none the less. Can't wait to see it in its final form!

Safelite won't touch the glass on my hatch and swap it into the new hatch....jackasses. There are two other companies on the Island that think they can do it. Neither are mobile and need to see both hatches...go figure.
on another more positive note, I picked up a Nexus 7 tablet this morning. Gonna do a quick install in the cubby area later today. I plan to use Velcro double sided tape. This will make for a larger monitoring screen for DashCommand. I have been wanting to do it for awhile now. In the future, I plan to make it a more permanent feature in the car. |
