and those fenders :)

Riptide67 03-28-2014 10:08 AM

Decided it was time to adjust my coilovers a bit in the front end. I was rubbing the plastic fender lining decently on bumps. The main issue was on the passenger side(even with no passenger). After a quick measurement it was clear I was actually about a half inch lower in the pass side. Overall I lifted the front end about 1/4 of an inch. I was beginning to fear the life and longevity of my CF fenders.

This was actually my first time adjusting coils and it was much easier than I thought. I had a friend with me who tracks his 350Z regularly and is a bit of a wiz with suspension setups. Only took about an hour to accomplish and the biggest PITA is just the bracket for the brake lines.

I'm not getting very great communication with Aerojacket pending the shipping of the Cf amuse kit. I was told it would originally be shipped last week and then again this Wednesday. I have got no response via email and they read a FB message I sent to them about 730 this morning and no response. It's beginning to get a bit irritating and pending he quality of the product, I may never return my business with them. Customer service and communication are two very important factors with business. End rant.

Huck 03-28-2014 01:33 PM

That's one thing I need to learn, how to setup my Coilovers. I'm gonna install them in the next couple days and I understand how to lower them, but all of the compression/rebound/dampening stuff I'm not familiar with yet. I don't need a super track set up, just want it to handle better which I think they will no matter what, I just want to make sure I don't have them all jacked up lol.

Zdayz 2014!!

Riptide67 03-29-2014 12:08 PM

It's actually super simple to adjust them and I have my dampening set to 17 all around. I love the way it handles and rebounds. And I now have the added bonus of not rubbing the plastic fender liners haha!

Riptide67 03-29-2014 08:24 PM

FINALLY!!!!!!

Shipping confirmation was received last night and all that carbon fiber will be here this week!

Riptide67 04-09-2014 09:45 PM

After a shipping nightmare, I've received part of the CF Amuse kit. The rear and that *** of fiber is glorious. I should have the front and sides by tomorrow or Friday. Big thanks to Rich at Aerojacket for helping to straighten it all out.

Another big shout out to Lohit at Fly1 Motorsports. I told him I was in a bit of a time crunch and really wanted to make sure I could get their aluminum splitter/skid plate before the Amuse kit goes on. It will be here tomorrow!

Also took part in the awesome GB NST has going on their short shifter kits. I've been in the market for one, but the pricing is a bit outrageous. I've never had one on any of my cars and I hope it turns out to be a great purchase. Our throw isn't super long, but shortening it up even more can only lead to more awesome.

Riptide67 04-12-2014 12:20 AM

Finally received everything today! Hope to have it all installed within the next week!

Cleaned and detailed the interior today.

Tomorrow:
Paint engine shroud
Install 6k reverse LEDs
Clay, cut, polish, buff, wax, and buff!

DatsunFTW 04-12-2014 07:09 AM

Congrats Mate!

Can not wait for the results. Good luck!

-Engine shroud painted
-clayed, polished, waxed
-Amuse kit
-Evo-r CF radio bezel
-6k reverse LEDs
-passenger side halo fix(popped off shroud and needed unsealed to epoxy on)

Last day before NissanFest is Friday. I need to install a CF radiator shroud cover and detail the living hell out of her.

Riptide67 04-29-2014 02:09 AM

Continuing on with the scheme of all things carbon fiber, I just purchased a few new pieces for some boring areas of Project: IlluZion.

Evo-R stage 2 CF mirror covers
Evo-R CF main Dash kit

Also, got my DD finally after some things fell through with the 240sx. Picked up a 93 Jap-Nadian Honda civic DX. Complete with non working KPH speedometer, haha!

Huck 04-29-2014 10:39 AM

Hey riptide, how have the evo-r pieces been fitting for you so far? I've only had experience with their cf fang cover and sr lip, both which sucked. Are the interior pieces fitting alright?

Zdayz 2014!!

Huck 04-29-2014 10:40 AM

Car looks fackin sweet too man, making me want to go work a corner to catch up to you hahaha

Zdayz 2014!!

Riptide67 05-14-2014 12:31 AM

So far, all of the pieces have for as expected...perfectly. I just received the main dash and mirror covers. I'll have them on here shortly since I just got back from Alaska. I will let you know how they fit, Huck!

Now get out there and make that paper on the corner, playa!!!
