My love for sport cars is driven by my passion for 240Z. Since we were kids everybody who knows cars known about the 240Z as one of the most joyful cars to drive with its 2.4L engine which roared like no one business. Going forward in time and seeing the 370Z elegant and aggressive lines coupled with the remarkableVQ37VHR engine which had been selected as one of the best engines in the car industry. Plus money being available toward end of 2012 I made the call to buy brand new 370Z Touring/Sport with Navi Package and bought the actual car on 3/1/2013 which happens to be my birth day and my journey has started. Since my first test drive I had the feeling that I made the wrong call on 6MT transmission, 370Z MT make you feel like a noob until your muscle memory adapt to the clutch weight and get a sense when the clutch is engaged. Afterward it’s just the pure fun to be able to shift. Oh my god

One of the notable natures for sport cars is aggressive exhaust tone, which the Z lacks. Did my research in the forum and found that FI had the highest demand then heard it on youtube and made the call for the following performance parts (FI Blots on + Stillen Gen3 CAI)
Performance:

• Fast Intentions Cat Back Exhaust with 18’ Resonator
• Fast Intention Resonated High Flow Catalytic convertor
• Stillen Long Tube Cold Air intake Gen 3 Powder coated with black texture
• Future? (TT/SC). Maybe who know where it might ends.

Issues list:
One of the going concerns for me is the oil temperature due to our harsh climate here in Qatar, so I wanted to install oil cooler, which clearly would not drop my oil temperature below the optimal operating temperature as maximum lubrication is what I’m after. Z1 have a kit with sandwich thermostat added as an option. From my reading it will work only 30% of the cooler rows, if and when the temperature reaches 190 F the thermostat valve will open to allow 100% of the cooler to be used. Which will reduce the temperature back to its normal level.

The other day I was driving my Z hard and had too much fun bushing and smashing. When I opened the hood I had noticed the power steering fluid literally boiling. So Next mod which was cheap and effective was Z1 Power steering cooler.

Solutions to the issues above:
• Z1 Motorsports 370Z Oil Cooler (34 Row/Thermostatic Adapter/ Hose Wrap) kept the oil dramatically cool within operational temperature. (Installed)
• Z1 Motorsport 370Z Power steering cooler (13 Row), (Installed)

What do you think of this bend will it restrict oil flow?

Wheels and Suspension:

Picture after picture and with huge time spent on finding the right wheel I was convinced to make the payment for the CV3 Vossen Wheels in Matte Grey color. Was not sure if it fits Gun Metallic color 100% but after fitment I was assured that it was decision well taken. Mods list as follow:

• Vossen CV3 9 +22 / 10.5 +12 (Installed)
• 10mm Nismo Lug nuts (Installed)
• Hankook Ventus V12 245/45/20, 285/40/20 (Installed)
• KW V3 Coilover (Installed, pending adjustment any thoughts?)

• SPC Front/back camber arms with toe bolt. (Installed, pending adjustment any thoughts?)

• Hotickis Sway bars. (Installed, pending adjustment for medium stiffness)

Please bear in mind picture below was before any suspension upgrades.

Interior:
The z leather which I like very much and plans initially to leave it stock but again the mod bug did hit hard so I will in the future put an order for the Carbon Signal CF 9 piece kit.

• CS 9 Carbon fiber 9 piece kit (To be ordered)
• Nismo Titanium gear shifter (Available – Pending installation).
• Trunk plastic cover drilled for KW adjustment with Custom black leather dressing (Available – Pending installation)

Drilling for the KW adjustment in the back

Exterior:

The car was planned to be modded lightly on the skin. However, the whole JDM bodykit scene did grow on me. My last resort was to order the genuine Amuse bodykit but again the big argument (Genuine VS Replica) could go on and on. Both sides have valid reasons. Did my own research and found that Shineautoproject do one of the best replica’s in the market with the Carbon fiber option and went with that option

• Full Amuse bodykit with CF (Rep) (Fitting Stage)
• EVO-R Fog light (Wiring stage)
• Genuine Varis mirror cover (Available – Pending installation)
• Genuine Top Secert Engine cover (Available – Pending installation)
• Painted strut bar (Available – Pending installation)

The car is still in the workshop for the last 3 weeks hopefully everything will wrap by next week.

Some pictures of the progress so far,

Upon arrival stripping down the car,

Testing fitment before fabrication ,preparation and painting

was about to install LED on front bumper but cancel last minute after I saw amuse kits with LED. Personally I prefer the kit without the LED.

The man responsible for all this amazing work! *Ray*

switching parts out of the stock bumper to the new bumper (they needed to fabricate a fiber glass bracket into my new bumper for the license plate light etc)

Now after sanding here and there the kit fits perfectly, Ray handed over the full body kit to the painter.
The car paint code is KAD, however, they tried different simples until they reach what seems to be very very close to the existing factory paint on my car.

Ironing out any imperfection to the surface of the kit before painting.

Finish product:

Door handles painted to match the body color

8 July Update, they installed everything except the front bumper

Will get pictures of the car on daily basis until the project is fully completed please sup

Looks great. As far as oil cooler line goes, it's not restrictive.

Update as of 11 July, ooh well the workshop promised a delivery on saturday but yet again they failed big time.
According to them, the driver who responsible to drive my car off the lift to the polishing area, his foot slipped the clutch while reversing and this damaged the sideskirts and part of the front bumper.

Well NOW they are promising Tuesday delivery...... pictures of the car masked for quick spray fix.

Thanks and wish me luck.. : (

Went over today and the car was on the polishing area for some booty wet sanding.

the car still dirty as hell with one month worth of sand. Anyway here is the pictures,

Bad news with installation of the EVO -R FOG LIGHT and i need your guys input to help solve the issue, apparently the electrician has no talent what so ever.

I will explain the issue unfortunately because of disappointment i was not able to record a video to document the issue.

They install the EVO-R Fog light as the diagram suggested, essentially there are three wires one goes for the ground, 2nd for the brake, third for the parking. Straight forward process however, the only difference between US Spec and Euro Spec is the fog light. In Us you connect the parking to the brake light as well so when its turned on the solid light will come as well I would like to do thing differently, Mine came with the fog light switch why not utilize it, so what they did was just cutting the two wires in the picture below for the factory fog light.

They cut both factory fog light wires and grounded the upper wire and connected the other one to the EVO-R as parking, however, when i turn the fog light ON from the switch it turns ON for 3 seconds then turn OFF for good
another issue, the flashing fog light will always flash when i hit the brake flash even though the switch for fog light on board is OFF or ON

I would like the solid light to turn ON and OFF from the onboard factory fog light switch, and that will activate the flashing with the brake light so if the solid fog light switch is OFF the flashing with the brake light is OFF as well!

Please help a brother out. my car will leave the shop on Tuesday so they either mess things up and play around or i tell them what to do. otherwise i will cut all wiring and call it a day

the issue of the fog light was resolved by installing a switch with three mods:
a) all fog light mods are off
b) soild fog light on constant basis.
c) no solid light but when i hit the brake the fog light start to flash and will stay on as long as i keep my foot down on the brake.

I will share several photo's taken from both instagram and my friends.

Yeap I have to agree with you, lower is way better..

I wish I can ........ : ( Our country is very well known as the capital of bazaar speed bump with no standards what so ever.

The front mesh is just a universal honeycomb made out of plastic.

Thanks...
