If I go the FI route, I will have low boost option for my DD. So many people have this. Let the pros worry about the tune!
PS: I want your 38mm spacers, sent you a pm

FI is safe as long as you stay somewhat lower boost. 30k miles is fine, I know a guy who's had a SC on his 350 for close to 80,000 miles with no problems. Just don't redline your motor all day everyday and you're fine

Go with GTM, hands down. The stillen kit sucks the D in a mean way. It doesn't make much power, it's not reliable, the tune is garbage, and there are lots of design flaws. PM Osiris for more details, he has it and he's had to do ALOT of work to it.

Ive read that as well. I move to San Fran end of the month and I figured I would take a trip to GTM :)

San Fran? Damn, all the way across the country. That'll be a hell of a drive for you to come to my place for your exhaust install hahaha

I sold the intake I felt I didn't want to remove bumper for filters considering the R2C if I don't go FI. I think I have to have them install the exhaust because they said it may need something bent to fit the new rear bumper...The relo company ships my car etc. I have about 3 weeks before I start my job so I was considering a cruz cross country...If I can get a hot Asian model to ride with me that will be my first choice! Know any? :icon17:

Ok so I had to go into the shop and yell at everybody :shakes head: I hate doing this just do your job and I will be fine but when this project is almost at 3 months with rental car bills of $1500 enough is enough! So they adjust my price accordingly and made a lot of progress. Since this is a total color change they have to do jams behind door panels etc....

Real Carbon Dash kit

3 Attachment(s)
I have white vinyl in my car and I bought it from carID.com. It was perfect fit and now that I am changing my car I went back to their site and now they carry real carbon fiber in the same kit. $130 and its just a 3m overlay. I am dropping this off at the body shop on Monday.... I have also attached a pic of the schematic so you can see all pieces that come with it :tiphat:

:happydance:

Z_bro 08-09-2013 05:00 AM

Now I just need some burnt orange leather seats to finish the interior! I need to get off here before I am late for my flight I am going to San Fran to find a place to live...Moving to the Bay people!

zefaulter 08-09-2013 07:16 AM

Mind if I ask how much that paint job is running? I've heard that my pearl white QAB is like $7k-$8k to paint the whole car.

These guys do it the right way as you can see they strip the car entirely. For body kit install, Paint, exhaust, fixing dent in drivers side door (I went in only to fix door and it turned into a full project :icon17:) I only paid $6700 for everything. So I am guessing the paint was about $5000. They did a lot of body work Amuse rear, evor-r sides, Shine Front lip, Fly 1 vented fenders, and the GT Wing. So I feel I got a great deal.

They would have gave me a full candy paint job for 7k...

zefaulter 08-13-2013 07:48 AM

Nice, that's a great deal man. Your car is gonna look sweet

SeeewPa Chajah!

I just spoke to Rob at Z Car garage and he has a Used Stillen Supercharger that fits my budget! He said its a solid supercharger with the proper tune. I don't need a ton off boost just enough to keep the suckas from getting to close to my bumper :driving:

Zbrah 08-15-2013 04:40 PM

Looking good Bro! Them fenders are :yum:

GTM Stage 2 Supercharger

Ok I just also requested the GTM stage 2 supercharger quote as well. I know its going to be a lot more than the used Stillen quote but I can't imagine paying 5k for the used still installed and only getting 380hp :shakes head: I may spend the extra $2500 and get least 500 :p! My car is to pretty not to be mean, and for Godsakes its a dragon! #Kahlessi

Supercharger build on deck!

Huck 08-16-2013 07:06 AM

The GTM kit would be my recommendation for you. I've never heard anybody say they love their stillen SC, they always give people trouble. The design wasn't really that great. One of the problems is that the Mafs are in the wrong spot where they get a lot of turbulence and start going on the fritz. My buddy has one and for a while his car would surge forward, then go I to limp mode for 2-3 seconds, the surge again and back into limp mode. He had to build a custom aluminum airfoil to redirect the air away from the Mafs. Then he had to replace some of the cogs cause they just sucked. All that for not much power? GTM is rock solid performance guaranteed. I'd say she'll out the extra dough if you have it and get the good stuff. If you want more info on the stillen kit, message Osiris here on the forum and he can answer your questions.

I agree Huck that is why I asked for the GTM quote I just hear its not carb approved so I have to find out that means is far as getting my car through emissions.

Huck 08-16-2013 08:10 AM

Oh yeah, I forgot about Cali and their emissions testing BS. Well good luck on your FI endeavor :)

What's up Zbro? Rob will be building a modified Stillen SC setup for me. Knowing the issues from other Stillen guys will hopefully cuts costs on improving the kit. Will be upgrading the kit to reduce heat mainly. All FI have to deal with heatsoak. I would go GTM if they were CARB approved, depends on how much risk you want to take. I can change out test pipes but don't want to remove a whole kit

If CARB is not a concern, there is the GTM MHI Twin turbo kit option also. I think I saw your post on BAZ.

CARB approved is a concern that is why I lean toward stillen in the first place. The 380 hp Rob told me the Stillen puts out made me think it may not be worth the money. Man one is not CARB approved and the other is sub 400hp:shakes head:

What are your Dyno'slooking like???

Yeah, the base kit at 8psi you're probably looking at 380whp-440whp, depends on octane and supporting mods. The GTM Stage 0 kit is around 410whp (91 octane & stock exhaust) but with better torque #s that is equivalent to the Stillen if GTM ever gets CARB approval. People have gotten up to 440whp on 93 octane/catback/hfc though on Stillen kit.

Dynos can vary. I wouldn't be worried about the #. Focus on the change in #.

Just building the parts list right now but plan to upgrade injectors, pulley, impeller upgrade, test pipes and custom tune to get up to 11 or 12 psi for a goal of 450whp on 91 octane for a semi CARB legal system. A 100 octane tune is an option too. Got the CARB sticker already so. Everything I just said is hypothetical so it should not be used against me in a court of law.

You need to figure out your power goals ASAP and how much hassle you can deal with (popo) otherwise it will cost more in the long run. Need to think about additional $$$ to support the car as you push more HP/TQ. 550whp/450tq is great, just plan to replace/reinforce stuff at a faster rate.
