Added initial startup and some exhaust sounds. Not the greatest quality, but you get the point :) I also picked up the pulley squeal on startup.

Fuel starve got me at 3 dots and a right turn at a light... Walked my *** to the gas station after working it out...

Yeah, I parked the car a half mile down the street after I did it to work out, had no issues getting there. It was after I finished working out I went to start her up and she was stumbling all over till the motor died.
I was also playing with my meth. I was seeing how it was tuned. It doesn't start pumping until I'm mashing on it, I can be part throttle at high rpm and it won't pump. I thought it was pretty cool. I was also learning to read the meth gauge as it was a mystery for a while. After getting on it and watching the gauge, I can see the bars turn red and light up as the pump starts flowing the meth. Hoping maybe I have enough time and money to take her in for a midnight dyno. |
Dang im at work and cant watch the videos. I will as soon as I get home though! Sorry about the fuel starve. You dont think it was a hot start issue?

I tried taking her to the dyno last night but no-one was at the shop. Next time I'll be able to is a couple weeks. I'll see if Wifey will film a driveby for me by then too. |
After seeing your meth install and watching my intake etc all apart and going together I decided that I should do the aquamist install on mine as well. Ya know, since there in there  It was the wife's idea who came with me to check on the car. If I recall you added meth when your wife went with u last also. Not sure when the wifeys talked but it worked out as planned :tiphat: I figured will all the heat issues I have been having it would make sense to try this also. How have your temps been? It hasn't exactly been hot lately but was curious.

I love my meth kit. It kicks in when needed and doesn't spray unnecessarily. The tank positioning in the hatch was awesome. I need to hook up my uprev cable to log water temps, but I have a feeling they are pretty cool. Highest my oil temps have gotten are 220 with some flogging and weather in the high 90's. I'm thinking for track days, twin 25's may have been a better idea, but we'll see. During warmups, with the 9.5 quarts of oil, it takes a good 10 minutes of the car just sitting there for the oil to warm up. Wife wanted the car to be reliable in the heat, so yeah, she said, do what you think is best. |

Congrats on the set up car came out good I am curious to see what your water temps are. From my own experience the water temp runs higher than oil temp when pushing the car in the heat. |
Uploaded an extended version of the drive. I added annotations too.
I was missing her while here in ATL, so I started watching the videos again lol. Pathetic I know. |

Nice video I cant lie though I would have hit 4 gear on that stretch of road it was empty lol:tup: |
Going to apologize ahead of time, I miss my car so I'm blabbling.
I appreciate all the kind words. Being in ATL is like punishment! I'm trying to schedule a dyno run next weekend. I did put a deposit on the CJM fuel starve kit. I don't need a retune do I? I also picked up my CS V2 fenders and they are back at home. Reminds me, I still have an EVO-R lip I need to put on! I think before I do suspension mods, I want to replace the diff. I think that's the last major weak spot with the car. Cooling is good, brakes mildly upgraded, power is more than good, sway bars tightened things up, clutch, flywheel and CSC replaced, and of course, who can forget the awful stock exhaust... It's sitting in the garage with the Headers/cats right behind it. Well, being in NV has it's benefits. Wife got my car smogged, passed with no issues, but the kid working it took a liking to my car apparently. She said the kids eyes got huge when she popped the hood and then he replied "This thing is beast mode, I know you be mashing". Why yes good sir, she is beast mode and I mash excessively. |
Good to know that a heavily modded car like yours can still pass emissions. :tiphat:

So I decided to strap Sophia down for some dyno passes this weekend. I was curious why my gas mileage is hovering around 14.5mpg, not only that, but I haven't seen the dyno graphs with meth going. For reference, a bone stock 370Z made 224whp in 4th gear. It's an awd mustang dyno. That's about a 32.5% drivetrain loss. That's w/o WCF. Mine put down 322 and 348 with WCF. Problem is, the car is running at about 11.0 AFR... Pig rich. Not only that, at about 5800 rpm, power dips a couple times like timing is being pulled. Not only that but on a couple passes, after I through it in neutral, the motor died and struggled to fire back up. I tried swapping maps and do a pass w/o meth, but my dumb @Ss didn't know I had to physically turn the meth kit off with the gauge. lastly, the clutch pedal engagement kept getting lower to the floor and sticking a bit sometimes after a few hard runs or driving around.
GTM got back with me and they need more info that I can't get yet because I'm not at home and I didn't have my laptop to log when I went (failed again). I need to get them boost pressure on the dyno, I also need to verify which map is which so I'm in the right one (I have two maps. One tuned w meth, and one w/o). Sam also said the pedal issues are indicative of the clutch pressure plate not working very well and could explain the dips in the graph. I'm still waiting for an email back on why the car is running so rich as well as why the car died. Oil temps at the start of the runs are at 200, by the end, they hovered around 220. This dyno seems to put a heavy load on the car, more than street and wind at the same speed and gear. Now don't take this as the car is running bad. The rides I gave, everyone was surprised the numbers were so low and the results didn't reflect what they perceived the car to be doing. The power doesn't drop off like the dyno shows, it just climbs, especially after 5k rpm. The car is dancing with traction through three gears. And boy does she sing on the dyno. Car just screams. As my goodbye, I screamed through the MCcarren airport tunnel through 4th gear. It gave me a boner. I <3 tunnels. Will update with better video quality if I'm able to get the file... Talking with Mike, the dyno was calibrated to think the car was 3625 lbs. When I was NA, 1/4 tank of gas and me in it, the car weighed 3300 lbs. I'm thinking the car gained 150 lbs tops with everything I did. This could be why the dyno was reading so low and maaaaybe the weird dips over 5800 rpm. From what he described, it puts a heavier load on the rollers based on weight. |
Gay :icon14: something is funky somewhere for sure. Interesting to know what the deal is.
