If you bought whiteline links watch them. I've had the nut back off several times.

Hmm... I'll have to check mine.

Huck 05-09-2014 09:38 AM

I ended up going with SPL on all four corners. I heard that the Whiteline end links have a habit of breaking. I torqued them down pretty hard with my impact gun, and I'll check them inna few days to make sure they're staying. Thanks for the heads up :)

Wish I'd have gone SPLon the rear. I'm stock on the fronts. Fronts are beefy as hell. I'd be shocked if I ever snapped one

GaleForce 05-09-2014 10:56 AM

SPL is the stuff. When I get around to upgrading the rest of my suspension it will be all SPL.

In other news. Harness bar and other parts will be ready for pickup tomorrow.

And I came up with an idea for my old strut bar. I'm going to paint it and have some carbon fibre show through. We'll see how it turns out in a few weeks.

Huck 05-09-2014 11:40 AM

I wish I could have someone teach me how to lay CF, I've watched videos on YouTube but it does t always explain all the questions I have. I learn by watching and doing. I'd love to cover my strut bar in white CF. And a lot of my interior pieces too.

I know the rears break a lot, I wasn't sure about the fronts but I didn't want to be halfway though the tail of the dragon at Zdayz and lose front sway bar functionality, so I bought all four just to be safe.

I'm all for overkill! One thing that's really important is to keep them greased. I hit mine every time I have the undertray off

Nope, had the original ones painted K23 to match the car. I will be getting the intake pipes powder coated dark grey/silver for contrast.

In other news. TiAL is completely useless for customer support/service. I was able to get some help from Tony at Treadstone with my BOV spring issue. He confirmed that I should be using the yellow springs in the BOVs (11psi). He has them in stock and hopefully will be shipping them out soon.

GaleForce 05-11-2014 08:32 AM

New project? Under 100,000 kms, looks beat and the dealer wants waaaaaay too much money for it.

What sort of issues are you having with your BOVs? Are you running 2 seperate vac sources for them or just a single one T'ing off?

I'm using a single vacuum source and T'ing off to both BOVs. The issue I have is the BOVs will open at idle, then the car will lean out. Sometimes it will stall and throw a code (I can't remember the code) if I don't give it a gentle shot of gas.

J/K. I would buy a 911 if I was going to spend that kind of money.

Seats were supposed to arrive at the US distributor on Monday. Yesterday I messaged my contact for an update, still waiting for a response. No news is good news, right? :stirthepot:

Also have a custom steering wheel being fabricated for me. It should look sweet.

The car is up on jack stands, hopefully I can find time to rip out the oil lines and re-plumb everything this weekend.

The one you showed me. I hope it works out. Their communication isn't the best, they must be really busy.

that's one of the reasons I haven't pulled the trigger yet... im looking forward to seeing what you get and how you feel about the product. What kind of lead time did they give you? Did you get a good deal? Feel free to FB message me if that's easier.

They haven't given a lead time... and the price isn't as good as they quoted you. I'll message you.

GaleForce 05-14-2014 11:46 AM

I spent a couple minutes in the garage this morning... :ugh2:

Wasn't that like $1k? That'd be the last thing I'd spend that much money on. Did you think about doing it yourself?

I'm impressed that you managed to take it all apart in a couple of minutes, but you need to put it back together so you can go for a drive :driving:

I have thought about doing it myself. I just don't have the time. :ugh2:

:iagree: I get a new idea every time I change/remove/modify a part, which causes me to change/remove/modify something else. :ugh2:

Update-

1. Seats... who the f*** knows.
2. Intake pipes should be back in 10 business days.
3. Steering wheel has been ordered, should have it in 5 weeks.
4. I hope to start and finish reworking the oil lines this weekend.
5. :ugh2:

jwick 05-15-2014 01:09 PM

That's quite a list. Mine is starting to grow too.

Did your intake charge pipes not come in the wrinkly black finish?

No. I paid a premium to have them polished.

Everything was good until I installed the TS engine cover. There was too much carbon fiber with it and my strut bar, which led me to buy and powdercoat a new strut bar. The powdercoating ended up being way darker than I wanted, so I came up with an idea for my CF strut bar. To go with that idea, I decided to paint my BOVs. Now there isn't enough contrast between them and the intake pipes.., so the pipes are getting powdercoated a contrasting colour. :ugh2:

GaleForce 05-15-2014 02:57 PM

Just got word the US distributor has my seats in the studio for some high-res pics. They are supposed to ship out to me tomorrow.

You got "word" but no pics? :excited: for good news and eventual pics

If they really are done and shipped, that's pretty amazing how they nearly kept their week turnaround promise after fvcking up an order that took 6 months (IIRC) originally :ugh2:

So once you get the high-res shots, you are gonna post them here riiiiight? I mean imagine how impatient you are to get these seats, and you already know which ones they are. So now imagine how impatient I am to find out! :p

Yes I'll be posting. Don't get too excited, they're not as rare as you think. It's the stitching and heat that make them one-offs.

I'm more excited to see my harness bar installed. Thanks again for the help!
