I don't want to wait any longer for this build.. Can't sleep, I wake up all tired everyday. It's like my first time getting laid, think about it all the time.

I have to convince Kelly in letting be borrow his 280Z to get to work. Wanna get this done before end of March before it gets to warm (:rofl2:)...

Mr&Mrs 03-03-2013 08:03 AM

I think nissan of brandon rents cars for like 20 bucks a day.

Nut_N_Much 04-20-2013 12:04 PM

Update:

A few days ago Kelly came over to help me out.. We got the car on jack stands, pulled the tires and calipers. I sent the Calipers and some SC parts out for powder coating, I should have them back by Tuesday. I'm glade we took them off the seals were melted off, they were on there last leg. Got the Z1 rebuild kit and Carbon Tech Pads F & R.. Waiting on some sale items to clear and I'll have these rotors EBC® - High Carbon Blade Sport Rotors :yum:

Started to prep everything for the fuel pump swap, starvation kit, heat exchanger, MAF Wire extensions, Gauges Hook Up, Injectors and UpRev MAF's. That way Tuesday I can install the intake & SC.

After looking at the car for a wile I finally decided to install the water reservoir in the battery compartment. That way it wont be in the engine bay collecting heat like the stock reservoir Stillen sends you. Looking at it closey I think I can run some vent lines to the compartment to run some cool from outside. I liked the idea of having it closer to the heat exchanger; less stress on the pump and fewer fitting can't be a bad thing. I thought having it inside the trunk area was good but didn't like the distance from the heat exchanger and routing of the lines.

http://www.the370z.com/members/nut_n...2456-14410.jpg

Anyways for the install I'll use the stock lines and fittings until I move the battery. I need the Battery relocation kit. Nissan 370Z Parts > 2010 Nissan 370Z TAYLOR CABLE RELOCATOR KIT, SINGLE TRUNK MOUNTReduces Engine Compartment Clutter, Provides Better Weight Distribution For Improved Traction Stability, Factory Crimped Terminals On 100% Copper Cables, 16' Red 2 Ga. . There is a DIY on the forum that made a kit, Taylor just packaged it for the Z.

:happydance: anyone local want the lights painted with a single halo kit installed, that Battery Relocation Kit is the cost.. I need it soon so :driving: get over to my place and let me fix you up:tup:..

Well the install has started! I will keep you posted with updates as we get though this. It sucks I am in a brace and can't lift more than 4 pounds but it real show's you who your friends are. Thank God for good friends.

When I pull the Gen 3 off I'll finish the stainless basket weave on the heat shielding and put it up for sale.. I'm sure it will be a hot item:yum:!!!

When I do it I'll take plenty of pics. We have a friend that built his G35S exhaust only using 2 large 18 inch resonators. It has a nice low growl.. He was able to do it with minimal bends, he also has no back pressure.. I have a plan to fix that!

May be a few weeks, I need to sell the Stillen Exhaust first or my Gen 3 Heat wrapped intake. :tiphat: Will post the both in classifieds Monday..:tiphat:

Glokwork 04-21-2013 09:37 AM

Its gonna be awesome and worth the wait I'm sure! I'm trying to get my hands on the FI 3" setup

I do lights :tiphat: , I've got 2 sets I gotta get done but this spinal fusion has slowed me down.. My car also has them, they were my first pair. Soon will swap out the old bulky halos for a better set..

Holy crap, those are nice! This is on my list of things to do but nice to know the talent is just north of me! With everything going on, I'd just like to swap mine for a set that's already done and then pay for the upgrade.

When your ready let me know. I'll send you a list of parts bast off what you want to do. Then when your ready drive up for a day... The lens conversion takes a little more time but still good for a day trip.. :tiphat: Or you can do them and I can walk you through it.. The thing about swapping a set is that not all sets are in good condition so the next guy gets screw. Unless your a big business with deep pockets..

I have purchased parts for customer before and they have backed out at the last min. People say they want the lights done all day but only a few take the time to do it! Since then, I started having the customer order the parts and ship there lights with them or come over to the house and we build them out.. Also helps with warranty when customer purchases what they want. If they don't know what to purchase I send a list with link that take them strait to the items.

Good thing: If we do this on the forum I send money to the forum to help fund this beast of a web-sight!!! With Chpt11 I'll make a video.. There are a few out there but not real informative.. Going to change that !!!

Huck 04-21-2013 07:20 PM

Dude when I get the money for the parts I'm gonna be lurking your LED thread something fierce. I'm planning on doing blacked out, quad projector, quad demon eyes with STi lenses. Maybe $300 in parts?

You got it! I'm sure we'll plan it out here or better yet, I can make it up there and we can talk in person with my car present and we can talk details and costs.

In the meantime, I'd like to order a couple LED bulbs to replace the dim front parking lights in the headlight housing. What type of bulbs are those and any recommendations on LEDs? I'd like to get pretty bright but not hot enough to melt the housing.
