Big thanks to A.J. @ Carbon Signal, Andrew at UAM. Customer Service and quality and price was excellent from both companies, I highly recommend either company to anyone looking for exterior mods. Thanks also to Phelan who helped me negotiate a deal which got me my rims from Cali.

I'll post up some better pics when it's sunny and I have time for a photo shoot, at that point I'll include interior pics and close-ups.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks, I think it's the only Z this colour, at least that I know of.

I first got the idea from seeing DOCCAM's Matte Silver wrap, which looked awesome, but his was a good bit ligher shade i think..

@ GaleForce thanks for fixing the pics for me - repped!

Nice color so its a Lambo color too?

simota1 01-20-2012 03:22 PM

BROOOOO nice  nicely done

One_Quick_Z 01-20-2012 03:25 PM

Nice color! But

If you where worried about cleaning your black Z this is going to be worse, Matte colors will get marked up by bugs and bird crap very easily and will not come off for the most part.... There was an article in one of the many import magazines about this....

Thanks for the heads up, there is a clear coat over the matte, but it has a flattening agent on it, so it should be better than naked matte paint. I'm also looking into getting the Matte Clear Bra installed to prevent any chips or scrathes...

Nope it's actually a Porsche Colour.

It's very similar to the Nissan GTR Gun Metallic colour.

I had the two colours sample sprayed side by side and decided I prefered the Porsche slightly better so I went with it and the shop used a flattening agent in the Clear to make it look the way it does.

Does anyone have any opinions on if I should leave the hood exposed CF, or colour match it to the rest of the car?

geosZ 01-20-2012 04:19 PM

I like. Can't wait to see finished pics of it

I think paint to match, unless you can mask off an area and do partial paint/carbon and have it look good.

Are you happy with the body shop so far? Would you recommend them? I need a shop to take my car to.

Very pleased with the guy doing the work. He has his own shop in a barn behind his house where he has worked with his father for the last 30 years.

Price is very reasonable, he charges a flat $50/hour for whatever you want.

I've used him in the past to do my calipers, and door handles, his work is always top notch and he really knows what he's doing, he was also really patient with me, when I was very indecisive and didn't know what colour I wanted, and offered to spray me samples of each so I could make a better decision.

If you want his contact info fire me a PM...

Very nice, i have a fujimura bumper on the works as well. Currently doing some mods to it. I am glad i am not the only one that likes the bumper

Reaper42 01-21-2012 12:13 AM

Which hood do you have?

Yup, Fuji front bumper is still my favorite, with Stillen a close second.

I'm really interested to see how the CF accenting works out in the front bumper, I'm hoping it compliments the Matte Silver nicely.

Glad to hear you are taking all of the precautions to protect the paint!

Edit- By the way how do you like the GT-R hood? How is fitment and who did you go through?

DAN

I went through EVO-R on this site. I personally like the GT-R hood and feel it's a nice change from the OEM hood, without getting too boy racer.

There are some other nice alternatives out there but I'm trying to keep the car somewhat subtle...

Fitment is spot on, no issues whatsoever....

quagmire87 01-26-2012 03:11 PM

Any updated pics?

Nope, should have the car back next week, I told the shop to paint the hood also, and he's been pretty busy with his personal life so I told him no rush since it's winter here and the car is parked anyways.

Will take tons of pics and post as soon as I get it back...

Thanks for the interest...

Looks sick man!

I was searching for GM colour for my Z last month then managed to find the New Aventadoor shade slightly darker then porsche one.

Cant wait to see the whole combo done:tup:

A.J@CarbonSignal 01-27-2012 02:39 AM

Adam, cars coming along nicely and clean. I love your choice of mods thats how I'd do it with CF touches here and there

I believe you waited so long to install our bumper and spoiler as you wanted to do all exterior mods at once?

I'll keep an eye on this thread for finished product :hello:

Anyways i am waiting for my back pieces and side skirts, i will post pics once everything is done.

Was gonna go with the amuse rear as well but it will look almost exactly like Jjden's mods.

theDreamer 01-27-2012 04:03 PM

Looking good, in for final results.

Jjaden 01-27-2012 04:09 PM

Yup, exactly A.J., I waited a long time for 2 reasons, I wanted to install all the parts at once so that I could change colour of the car, and I also wanted to wait until winter so I could park the car and not be rushed, because the Z is my DD during summer months....

I will def, post more pics and close-ups as soon as I get the car back.

Carbon Signal, and UAM were both very helpful to me in getting my parts in excellent condition and quality.

Phelan also bent over backwards in helping me get my wheels, from Cali.

I can't wait until the car is finished so I can show off your products!

GaleForce 02-07-2012 09:26 PM
