Ahh yes, then I could have left them full length but they would have poked out the end of the lugs and I don't like how that looks. All good, it's done now!

There is no way those are ARP studs at full length on that wheel... It would look like this, which is what mine would have looked like:

So the seat does need two brackets? One for the floor and one running up the sides? Does the seat not have have a lower mount point? I'd like to only buy one and not two.

There are actually 3 sections: floor mount/base, sliders, side mounts and they bolt together in that order. You could get away with mounting the side brackets directly to the base I suppose however you'd need to make sure it was set at the perfect driving position for you as you would have no adjustment. You cannot bolt the seat directly from the bottom to the floor.

Yeah I know that. I was thinking base to floor and base to bottom of the seat that has a lower mount point along with side mounts. Or the side rails welded to floor and then bolted to seat. Just want as little weight as possible and cheapest price.

The side mounts and base will not make any discernible difference in weight. The seats are $1800 each as well, so another 10% to have it mounted properly isn't bad IMO. That said some people do like to ditch the sliders for a more secure install in the event of a crash at the track (sliders are prone to fail in those situations) and that makes sense to me. The holes that are in the seats now you would have to use as they are because there is simply no good way to make another attachment point on the seat itself. But ya, you could totally modify the base or mount the side brackets directly to the floor, there is enough clearance for that.

Well both are 6lbs so I save half haha. Yeah that does make sense. I'm going all FIA so I have to be secure and safe. And I'm looking at corbaeu sport forza FIA seats for $314 retail. The base has holes in it so fingers crossed they will fit the seat holes on the bottom. If they don't then I need to decide if I want to weld side rails to the floor or buy both base and sides and have to spend more and more weight. Or I could drill out a hole in the base to match the seat holes...

The floor isn't flat so you will need a base or to build up the flood one way or the other... Our floor sucks a whole lot.

That's true. I guess I'll just buy the base. Bolt the seat to it even if I need to drill holes if the base holes don't line up. Then if the seats to low or something I may just have to spring for the side rails to raise it up and use the side mount holes.

I wound up having a custom base made since I'm tall.. The Planted base was too high and wasn't even level.

Yup planted bases = junk. Either go custom or get the Wedge Engineering base and modify that.
