this z is so clean.. cleanest one in forums.

TypeOne 07-09-2011 04:26 PM

Thank you!!!!

I did a little more work today.. damn it's hot outside.

I lowered the back down a little more to kinda even the stance out. With my 15mm spacers the rear is stilling perfectly...I think.

I also picked up some hit temp paint and sprayed my calipers brembo gold with Akebono in white. I'm going to send them to Mike when it is my turn, but this should hold me off until I can do that.

ahahaha thanks dude!

It's all in the prep work! All in all I think the materials cost me like $20.

Having access to a vinyl plotter helps get the logos right the first time.

Great to see a modded BSM!

Looks great!

I love your car! Well done.

First set of SA-55M's that fit the car IMO

Thank you!!!

I was a little apprehensive to get them at first, but I figured it was worth a shot. I love concave wheels and have had them on every car I could fit them on.

There aren't many people that run them on 370s, although it is a popular wheel for EVO / STi drivers.

I should have more little updates coming soon... I'm going to attempt to pull my headlights apart tonight for a little subtle modification.

+1 Its so hard to get those wheels to look good on any car!

They fit nicely on the Z though!

hdskull 07-11-2011 08:15 PM

Wow, your painted calipers look amazing!!!

Get out of my thread you! :stirthepot:

Anyway, thanks guys!

I did a little more work yesterday smoking my reflectors in my headlights. I don't like the painted housing look (no offense to anyone that has it) but I think it makes the lights look cheesy and obviously modified.

So last night I pulled my lights out and pulled them apart to smoke the reflector inside of the housing. It came out really well and I didn't screw anything up!

I'm uploading pics right now so I'll have them posted in a few.

:tiphat:

KaienZ34 07-12-2011 09:11 AM

In for dem dare pics.

KaienZ34 07-12-2011 09:12 AM

I want the all white hdlight look. Did you bake them in the oven to get them open?

TypeOne 07-12-2011 09:57 AM

Yep! Baked them like I was cookin dinna!

Before

It took about 5 hours from start to finish, would have taken longer if I were painting other parts.

KaienZ34 07-12-2011 10:57 AM

Looks sharp, me likey. REP

TypeOne 07-12-2011 12:03 PM

I'm trying to get my car up to the proper status... the sad thing is, Metz's car is still way cooler. :-(

LOL

Many thanks to ur post. I love it.

Boost_lee 07-13-2011 12:13 AM

looks great

I originally wanted to smoke my lights, but couldn't find a good paint to use. Which did you end up picking?

Well, I used VHT night shades to smoke my reflectors... not really a smoke because it's nearly black. However, I can say that in direct sunlight, you can you still see a little sparkle through it.

I have been wanting to black chrome my housings but that is apparently hard to do and do it evenly. If I ever decide to pull them apart again, I might try it.

Liquid_G 07-13-2011 09:57 PM

looking damn good man.. very nice.

Ah ok. I used the night shades for my reflectors too. Your pic editing made it seem like the whole housing was slightly tinted

Have you put rear spacer with your wedssport?

Would like to know?

Since I rolled the front fenders, there is no more rubbing and our roads are terrible around here. On a nice smooth surface, it's no issue.

The front tire size is stock and I wouldn't want to go with a 35 as I like the meaty look of rubber on my rim.

I did end up going with a +15mm spacer on the back to make them a 0 offset wheel. I would like my rear to sit a tad bit lower (maybe 1/4 inch) and to do that I'm going to take out one of the perch rings.

I'll probably do this next week... I'll put more pics of it then.

Thanks! :hello:

I looks like he went with a 15mm spacer in the rear.

TypeOne 07-20-2011 10:42 AM

Thanks Kaien..

Yes, I have a +15mm spacer in the back with the 10.5 +15, making it a +0.

Just got back from IA 2011 and the Alabama roads destroyed my new Stillen lip... AGAIN!

So not I'm lipless once again... and I don't know which one I want now. I'm certainly not going to spend a ton of money to only have it get destroyed. I guess it's a good thing the Stillen lips are inexpensive. :-/

But... I did manage to get this shot before the carnage.

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f3...Z/54e09fed.jpg

More updates coming soon I guess...

One_Quick_Z 07-20-2011 11:15 AM

Thats what I wanted to see! a rolling shot!

The remains of my Stillen front splitter... #2.

Boost_lee 07-21-2011 02:38 AM

Wow, I just finished putting 11 bolts and washers on my Stillen lip. I felt reassured until now...

Rolling shot is sick!

TypeOne 07-21-2011 10:37 AM

If it makes you feel any better... what was bolted on didn't come off...lol

Sigh... I don't know what I'm going to do now. I guess it was a sign that the Stillen lip just wasn't right for my car. I guess I'll be off to destroy more expensive ones then.

:-/

On a side note, I did find my car on a cool online blog.

Word! stickydiljoe.com! Check it out!

TypeOne 07-22-2011 10:32 AM

Yea he did... back in the day! Now he rolls around with a bagged Infiniti...

I torn as to what lip to get now.. any suggestions?

Boost_lee 07-22-2011 12:00 PM

If you want a lip that is not lower than the bumper, the evo r one is stock height just sticks out farther. Not sure of you like that lip, but it might new one of the few that won't hit the ground

TypeOne 07-22-2011 01:28 PM

Mehhh yea... not really a big fan of it. I really like the Mines or the Top Secret lip but damn, I'd die if I ripped one of those things off.

delusional 07-22-2011 05:28 PM

one of the guy over here had 3 Stillen lip and he just recently got an Evo-R and he says it doesn't scrape at all unlike the Stillen one which scrapes everywhere. so thats something you could try. i think it looks just as great too

kevr6 07-24-2011 04:33 PM

My Sunline front lip has a slight curve so if it scrapes, it's only beneath. Also it is attached a whole lot better!

Not a fan of Stillen's product quality!!

TypeOne 07-25-2011 11:17 AM

I've never had a problem with their fitment... both lips fit and look great IMO. I attached it hardcore, so it's not like it fell off.

I think the time was just right, I hit a massive incline and because my car is so low, it was just done for. Whatever lip I get next, can't really be much lower than the bumper.

Sigh... idk! I really, really, really want the J-Next front lip but damn... if it falls off, I'd cry.

ilive2win 07-25-2011 11:34 AM

the sunline lip isnt much lower than the front bumper though, im as low as you are, if not lower and yes ill scrape if im not carefull but my lip is still on and ive had it for a while now. i think the other lips drop down too far but the sunline is pretty level with the front bumper

My sunline is 3" from the ground middle front! Cracked it once at 80mph in a storm, middle of the night, on road kill! Very strong!! Got it repaired and no problems since!!
