My friends Audi RS4

jasonhoutx 06-07-2009 12:32 PM

how far out would those wheels stick out from the fenders if you didn't drop it?

+22 offsets all around?

Would it look just as good with a spings drop or the only way is coilovers?

very sexy car man.

gnarf 06-07-2009 05:39 PM

I think I saw your car at Woodbury...near a red G37..smart move parking it in valet...parking was packed to the hizz-ouse

It looks a bit akward without a drop. Take a look at Double Downs picture album, specifically at the one with volks where the rim/tire sticks out a good 1.5-3" outside the fender. That's what it looked like without a drop.

IMHO a simple spring drop would eliminate it. The rims/tires fold in quick when the car is lowered. I'm happy to have taken a risk and shared my story with others because it was worth it. It did rub and the extreme lowered point, alot actually. It's the only offset that you can get with these wheels at this size.

Nice!! I been spotted, first time!

I was reminded how nice the drive to Woodbury is a couple of weeks ago during the royal flush rally I attended. So me and the wife decided to do some shopping and go for a nice drive. Ya I didn't want to take a chance and get dinged by some soccer mom. It was worth it and the guy was extremely nice and said he liked my car so much that he would not park anyone around me. That was worth it enough for me!!

jasonhoutx 06-13-2009 10:58 PM

did you put on any kind of camber kit? those wheels look almost neutral in camber. Impressive for such massive wheels and aggressive drop.

gorillanismo 06-14-2009 02:05 PM

the coilovers gives to the car an awesome look!!!

Also, little update...front fangs, roof, and mid-rear valence will be getting painted flat/satin black. The same satin paint will be coating the insides of my headlights too...Should be done by next week.

those pics are HOT! love them

RCZ 07-26-2009 04:46 PM

Danny, could you do us all a big favor and get some more exhaust clips/ videos? I am interested in getting resonated pipes and I really want to get a better feel for the sound.

DannyGT 07-26-2009 08:18 PM

Will do! Weather will be really crappy this week but I'll get to it and post something up by Friday.

So... I did some pulls with a G37 the other day that had test pipes, and WOW, am I glad I got the resonated ones. Even tho I still get some rasp here and there and in that 2-3k range, its literally for a split second while his is throughout the entire powerband. It had this ringing/buzzing/ZZZZZinging (lol) and my buddie w/ an RS4 that was riding with us said he noticed it and thought something was wrong with his car in comparison to mine. But nothing was - it was the test pipes - they sounded like that on mine too before I switched to the resonated ones.

But I think you have the HFCs no? I mean your going to gain what, ~5whp? It probably wont even sound that different either. One thing you have to stay on top of tho once you go pure-catless is the very strong smell and cleaning your tips alot more often because of discolorations...

RCZ 07-26-2009 08:27 PM

Hmm, frankly I know there wont be much in the way of power gains. I'm trying to clean up the sound and maybe "enhance" the sound at WOT. Call me crazy, but I just love the noise. I want the car to scream. If you say it wont sound all that different, then maybe its not worth it.

I dont know, I mean its your money, but I can imagine having to sell yours + purchasing another set and then not really noticing TO MUCH. I'd imagine if you were in need of an improved sound you'd want to go with an alternate exhaust setup. I just dont *think* its going to be a good use of funds ;)

RCZ 07-26-2009 09:44 PM

Perhaps you're right, thanks for talking some sense into me. hahaha

DannyGT 07-26-2009 10:53 PM

BUUTTTT, you want to see some real-life pics of them, I have those on tap!

Oh ya, few thousand miles on them - no CEL! GG GTM

RCZ 07-27-2009 12:06 PM

Yeah, showing me shiny pics of awesome looking resonated pipes is a sure way to get me to NOT buy them. Jerk ;) haha.

I want more of a racecar sound at WOT. Like that 350 with the longtube headers... now that would be fun.

DannyGT 07-27-2009 12:39 PM

ha! I knew you would have enjoyed those...

I tell ya what, lets get some long-tubes made for us to prototype! I'm game!

RCZ 07-27-2009 12:54 PM

Hell yeah, where do I sign?

YouTube - SG-Motorsport Longtubes

Holyyyyyyy shiiiiiiiiiiit...Someone go to the intake/exhaust section and tell them to make an exhaust system just like that...ASAP!

30whp gains on a 350Z not bad at all!

RCZ 07-27-2009 01:11 PM

Its not going to happen unless you ask for a custom job though because its not at all cost effective for the makers of it. With that much noise you're going to sell like...3. One to me, one to Danny and the other one to Mr-I'm-building-a-racecar Travis.

:iagree: That looks sweet!!!!

LiquidZ 08-31-2009 02:59 PM

Great job!

boosted180 08-31-2009 03:32 PM

you did the black out fangs in gloss black? (looks like it in the pictures). i like it! most people do it in a matt black.

DannyGT 08-31-2009 03:47 PM

Well, its not glossy black...How it was explained to me is matte/satin are alot closer to each other than say 'flat'. Most people seem to just be doing a 'flat'

After awhile a 'flat' black would get chalkboard like and really dry looking. So we removing the bumper and sprayed the entire mouth (fangs, fins, license plate holder area) in a matte/satin black which has a low gloss to it. That picture has some reflections to it which really give it a big gloss finish but its not...take a look below.

http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/1931/img5444p.jpg

Whats cool about a satin black is that it tricks you because its almost like in certain lights a silver ( or PG ;) ) wants to pop from underneath it. Which happens to come off looking badass on my car.

CrownR426 08-31-2009 05:42 PM

So amazing!
Any nice driving area in South?

Asheth 08-31-2009 06:37 PM

Now that is the perfect! Do something with the nissan symbol and it will be a clean nice look. Your job on the projectors is the one of the best imo. Exactly what was your process there?

I especially like how you left the ends of the projectors the stock silver but hit the other parts giving it a Lambo projector looks which is the best looking style.

What are you shooting your pics with?

:tup::tup::worship:

Maybe something on the mirrors some black in the middle

insideoutoreo 08-31-2009 07:53 PM

that looks amazingggg!
