Danny, car looks awesome  Only thing is that the rear looks lower for some reason, maybe its the neg camber, you going to adjust that out a little in the rear? My car seams to be the same way, although I'm only running springs, so it's not quite as low as yours. Not that this means a whole lot, but i measured from the ground to the bottom of the wheelwell and the back of mine sits 1/2 lower then the front. Probably going to get the same coilovers you have so I can make it sit more even.
|
Yup it's a combination of things...
1. Overall diameter on the fronts ended up being ~12mm taller 2. More camber in the rear 3. Felt as if the suspension settled a bit lower when all said and done I will be getting corner balanced on Tuesday so everything should be evened out. I'll take more pics including exact weight at each corner. Full camber settings, and the overall exact weight of the car. I'll scan the sheet and post it here. |
already moddin !
yousa crazy mofo.... |
Car looks awesome! Loving those AMEs.
|
Super clean... I'm trying to decide which is better setup (considering all the mods) for the same amount of money. This or the Nismo!?!
|
Some additional shots!
This is after the custom X pipe and tips installed on the Stillen exhaust...I eliminated any sort of rubbing/hitting isues once and for all! I havent felt an ounce of difference on my butt dyno! I'll be hitting the dyno this coming weekend so we'll see... http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/3449/img0402d.jpg http://img40.imageshack.us/img40/5917/img3426.jpg http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/4329/img3445.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/1685/img3446.jpg I like it - ESPECIALLY - form the side profile... The problem with the round with no angle is the side profile. I never minded the rear shots of the Stillen tips but the from the side they looked way to big + all the adjustments that were made just to get it to look even and flush all led to this! |
Look great Danny! Where did the tips come from?
I wonder if anyone will get tips that are oval instead of round as seen from the back, to fill in the bumper cutout more. Perhaps they already exist? |
That was my original plan 4.5" oval slant cut burnt tips. But I would have had to wait a week to get them and with oil cooler and intakes being installed this is what was available so I decided to do it. I like it! The back is a more subtle look and then anything from quarter/side angle just looks amazing.
These are 4.25 magnaflow tips. |
The tips look awesome, dude!
|
fantastic.
|
Wow man looking good, one question though is the front higher than the rear? It kinda seems like it in the picks.
|
Damn Danny,
Car looks sick. Perfect stance and the rims are awesome. Very Nice. Chris |

Looks awesome. Finally some slanted tips. Best looking Z so far IMHO.
|
DannyGT: I was wondering what front and rear arms are you going for? SPL all the way?
|
When I do it, yes it'll probably be SPL all around unless companies like cusco/whiteline start coming out with stuff...
Shouldnt have an issue with SPL tho. |
Hey Danny
Best looking Z on here for sure! Great job! Just out of interest, has the overall rolling diameter of the wheel/tire combo changed much compared to the stock wheels? Just thinking of problems with the indicated vs actual speed. Cheers, Darren Melbourne |
Last picture =

I am loving your Z, I wasn't too much of a fan of grey if i'm not mistaken, but you have changed my opinion with your great looking Z. The drop and wheels define so much to this car, it's amazing how it turned out.
Congrats and I look forward in seeing your latest pics or next mods. Devil Z |
Mmmmmm my favorite! An in-motion shot caught today at the Royal Flush Rally!

It looks awesome, Danny, the drop is perfect! Any updates on problems with bumps/scraping anywhere? You had only mentioned driveways before...
How did the rally go? I used to live in Wood Ridge and recognized the area immediately when I saw the map. |

I'm going to be posting some results of my alignment/corner balancing today in the afternoon. But I eliminated the rubbing and pretty much the scraping 100%. The one thing you do need to be careful with is those extra large speed bumps and buckled up pavement. Because you WILL scrap that cross brace under the car! I rarely cone across those and was only forced to go over it once. Everything is fine tho. |
That's great news, how did you get rid of the rubbing and scrapping?

Okay, I need to order my exhaust components. That fly-by video was sex.

DannyGT,
Care to PM the price you paid for your wheels and where you bought them? Thanks! |

Whoa, wait just a minute. All the mods look great but you seemed to have forgotten your The370Z.com sticker.

Hey Danny, looking at the pics it looks like the tires you have seem to be a little wide for the wheels (particularly the 305's). Are the pics just distorted or are the tires a little on the agressive side? You think going 10mm smaller (265/295 combo) would make for a better fit?
|
The 275s in the front looked way more overkill then the 305s in the back...I feel the rears are flush with the rim with minimul buldge.
I actually ended up going 265 in the front because of that actually. They were also a good bit taller. After some research the 265s ended up given me the exact overall height as the rears which was great. They are now visually more equal in profile compared to the rear and the same overall height! One thing I noticed being so aggressive, was before the corner balancing the rears had almost 2.5-3 inchs of tire that never touched the ground (holy camber batman!). But now that everything is balanced and i have a 2.1ish camber in the rear only like 1-1.5 inch of rubber is not touching unless agressivly turning. So the 305s are great! Also, its cool to be in the 300's with tires...it commands respect! hehe But yes, you should be fine with 265/295 no problem! |
if you dont mind me asking, what was the camera car? :D
