I bought the mesh from Lowe's. Big sheet that I cut down. So I have plenty to spare for the future. Here's some pics of how I fastened it to the bumper. I use the clips that already on the botton. Just folded the mesh in a "L" shape and pushed the clips in over the mesh. Kind of hard to do but it works fine. Then when you put the screw in to hold the under panel shroud it holds it all in place. You also want to massage the mesh in place for the bumper has a slight curve to it.

As far as the top portion goes I just folded it over the inner lip and punched small holes in the corner and fastened it down wit small zip ties. Plus when you put it all back together the foam behind the bumper hold it in place also.

Hey Spohn, how are your RE-11s wearing?

SPOHN 01-07-2012 10:13 PM

I feel there doing real good. Haven't took any measurements or anything. They have about 6500 miles on them with three track days. And I don't baby my car when I take it out. I feel I'll get at least 12k out of them. Or at least the rears. I'll do a coin test on them tomorrow.

christian370z 01-08-2012 02:32 AM

That's much better than I thought to be honest, especially with a couple track days on them. I feel better now that I can get around 3 years out of the rears at my current yearly miles driven haha. Thanks Spohn, don't worry about doing the coin test.

Also I took some time to plati-dip my middle section on my front clip. Really adds great contrast to my car. Going to do my door handles and rear section around the exhaust are next. Also I installed removed the OEM platic grill section and installed some mesh. I really like this look also. Can't wait. Comments welcomed.

I like the grill black out look on the 370Z. I have been looking at ways to obtain the look without CF add-ons. You did a great job and the mesh must help get more cool air to your oil cooler and radiator too.

I was thinkin bout the Z1 upgrade kit. Almost seems too affordable though. I would love the Stillen J- Hooks, just a little too pricey. Prob gonna go with Stoptech slotteds. Anyway, good work. Look forward to seeing it on the Dragon come May.

It is a great affordable kit. I ended up getting the Stillen rotors for half price. A buddy won them in a raffle and I bought them. After that I plan to just get my rotors from O'Reilly being I have a account there and get all parts 45% off. I know there cheaper rotors but don't care for I'll be chewing threw them on the track. It's just that easy to replace without a hugh expense.

Can't wait for the dragon either. Never been and it's never really been too far away.

Gutted Rear Interior

Started gutting my rear interior for roll cage install. It's really nothing to remove the trim pieces and I wanted to save me some money when my car goes in for it's makeover. I still have to remove the hood liner but couldn't figue how to remove the damn sunvisors. Plus the seats need to come out and grind down the seam sealer where the welding will be done.

Also I just started a thread on how do you remove the sun visor. If you guys know how I'd appreciated? I couldn't figure it out. The clips around the mount wouldn't easily pop down.

weigh 19lbs. Woot. Thanks to Mike for the sale. He even powdered coated the brackets wrinkle red for me also. Same as my intakes and strut bar if you have see that earlier.

HKYStormFront 01-28-2012 09:52 PM

nice man!

wstar 01-29-2012 02:09 PM

Nice updates :)

The seats: I assume the 19 lbs is w/o the brackets, right? Any idea on bracket weight?

The trunk itself on mine has been perma-stripped-out for a while now, but I have yet to move forward to the plastics just behind the seats. Will probably be coming up soon though, for the same reason (make it easier/cheaper for a local shop to weld in a 4-pt rollbar setup and attach harnesses, and then probably leave them off).

What about the wimpy stock bar/tube that goes across the rear interior? I'd think with even a 4-pt rollbar in place you've got far more strength than that dinky thing ever offered, may as well kill it right?
