What would happen if you got another car everytime you saw a Z you would miss it. Unlike some of the other cars (evo, Sti) that are cheaper and easier to mod, I think the Z is much more mature car.

haha this is dead on, I would def miss the Z when I saw them, as for looks I love the car....

I would replace it with either a lightly used e90 335xi or Audi S4, or possibly a 06-08 STI. I agree completely about the sti not being a "mature" car but in white/black with a nice drop and some nice wheels it can become some what classy....

If I did get rid of it, I would want to graduate to 4 doors and AWD if possible... I have a 97 subary legacy for winter driving but it would be nice to find a certified used vehicle I can drive year round..

In all honestly if I had to make my mind up right now I would be keeping the Z .

RCZ 03-31-2011 07:27 PM

I don't know know if I feel all that "mature" in my car...was one of the reasons I wanted to move to something more grown up. Also, call me a sinner, but I really want a fast dual clutch gearbox in my next car. I done rowing for now.

jnaut 03-31-2011 07:29 PM

i want a DBS or v12 vantage, then ill feel all "grown" up!! :)

RCZ 03-31-2011 07:37 PM

haha. shut up jnuts.

ill take one of those too :icon17:

and ill be single and living out of it... ... a 1700 dollar car payment and about $250 in gas a week.... live would be good though...

Im pretty sure they will be done with the car tomorrow...

I am going to absolutely baby and do EXACTLY what it says in the manual for break in... not that i romped it last time, but I was a little hard on it by 700-800 miles... but a new engine should of been good to go by than. I should set up a go pro hd in my car and record the first 1200 miles just for proof if this were to happen again, lol...

chuckd05 04-01-2011 05:53 PM

haha . Well I made the call today... there was a "delay" and my cars still sitting in the lot with the OG motor in it, tech is off tomorrow. so it looks like I will be rocking this Juke until tues-wednesday....

i should throw a boost contoller on this thing, disconnect the mid pipe, and bring it to the track tomorrow haha . that would be funny

christian370z 04-01-2011 05:57 PM

That would be epic haha, I vote to do it but videos are a must. :)

You guys are hilarious. I didn't mean for it to sound like the Z is a very very mature "grown up" car. I was saying compared to the evo's/sti's it is. I had an S4 and it was nice. Just don't get the V8 model get the bi-turbo.

chuckd05 04-05-2011 10:09 PM

cars still at Nissan, i am now sick of this Juke ... the Juke is actually shorter than a 350z , pretty tiny...

not a word from them either, they told me it would be ready this past Friday .... :(

CrownR426 04-06-2011 02:46 PM

Get a used M3!
:D

RCZ 04-06-2011 03:01 PM

^ Yeah! Its heavier and slower!

chuckd05 04-06-2011 05:09 PM

who knows...

hopefully its back tomorrow

SeeyaBud86 04-06-2011 05:29 PM

they test drove it 2.5 miles and it was "fine" for them... i drove .5 miles and the Service Engine soon light started flashing. They called me and said they did "manual" resets and they want to keep it overnight to make sure its good in the morning... I think it was prob the timing being off but they said no at first.. who knows...

hopefully its back tomorrow

Damn dude. Hope they get it worked out.

yea me too, i got in it and actualy was happy... drove 60 feet and it misfired, pretended like it didnt happen, and two seconds later the car was shaking like crazy at idle...

talked to them later they said it had random mult misfires and vvel code that was thrown... this is making my decision even easier red...
Reds car may be fitted with most of the shyt from my car before we know it, haha...

also I refunded your money for the fog light , Its still sitting in the Zs hatch, saw it today than forgot to take if off when I brought the car back... so ill pm you to see if you still want it, and if you do, you can just pay me after you recieve it... and itll be your chance to make me wait 2-3 weeks haha...

IF I do go the route of ditching the Z we can def do the meet up thing, VA is a decent drive but if you are willing to swap your stock wheels for the volks I will go half way or something... do the yankees play Baltimore or boston, away , any time soon ? lol

I forgot I had the nismo seats when I got in today, I had a wtf momment, I had the seats in for 1 day before the car went in, it was pretty funny...

If the car isnt back tomorrow, I am calling Nissan USA and trying to swinagle a payment out of them or something.. as my car has now been in the shop for 7 weeks in the last year.

tranceformer 04-06-2011 11:11 PM

damn... that sucks. i hope this all works out, chuck!

chuckd05 04-06-2011 11:45 PM

thanks dude, this car is driving me crazy lately...

Red__Zed 04-06-2011 11:57 PM

No worries on the fog light man. Just give me a holler whenever you have it back. I guess if I'm driving up, there may not be much point in shipping it anyways :rofl2:

I hope they figure out whatever is going on. I can't imagine how much of a PITA it has been without the car....I think I might go check my oil levels right now.

chuckd05 04-07-2011 12:26 AM

please do... and report back!

docaam 04-07-2011 03:09 AM

very sad to read all about the issues, hopefully it will work out for you

chuckd05 04-07-2011 02:23 PM

Got the car back today. Everything seems perfect.

Big thanks to Smithtown Nissan as they were very cooperative and supplied the loaners and warrantied my car With Zero resistance.

They had to reset something with VVEL. The hold up was with another car before my car. When it got in it was a 2-3 day job With the hiccup. They had drove it 2.5 miles before they gave it back and it was all good , I
Can say I am happy and realized how much I missed driving her and just looking at her. Haha

For now, she's not going anywhere. Too much into the car to give up right now!

Red__Zed 04-07-2011 03:04 PM

Glad you got it back and are happy with it, even though I wanted those rims :rofl2:

tranceformer 04-07-2011 03:19 PM

Picked up sport brakes today from toxik. Big thanks to him for a great deal.

On the other hand the cars been back at Nissan. It misfired again, they pulled the tune off and in 75 more miles it hasn't duplicated the problem. Very confusing to everyone, techs, me, performance place, etc...

So tunes going back on and they're gonna test drive it some more. The service advisor has been awesome and we've built a good relationship, they are doing everything to get it right. He takes it home at night with a scan tool just in case. I have a maxima loaner and they're taking as much time as they need to know it's fixed when I get it back...

Couldn't really ask for anything else with the situation at hand. I'm glad performance motorsports and the dealer work together. Its been a big help and everything's been covered.

I need some better luck though.

Red__Zed 04-12-2011 10:05 PM

:shakes head:

Boost_lee 04-12-2011 11:21 PM

Hoping for the best Chuck, sucks to hear all of this

chuckd05 04-13-2011 12:05 AM

chuckd05 04-27-2011 11:41 PM

so now i have the diff, aero kit, and brakes.. but no rev match... its a 4/5 sport package now, lol

Parked next to another nice car at the gym... love our cars rear... looks nice next to the M
http://www.the370z.com/members/chuck...312-photo1.jpg

one of these days I will get her nice and detailed and find a nice spot to take some good pictures... rolling ones too... the wheels look so much better rolling now with "proper" brakes behind them... these wheels really exposed my base brakes which forced me to get these ( such a bummer , haha ) .....

tranceformer 04-28-2011 06:21 AM

loooks awesome chuck! i'm jealous!

chuckd05 04-30-2011 02:45 PM

Thanks man!! I have 1149 on new motor. About to check the oil. Moment of suspense. Haha

Red__Zed 04-30-2011 04:02 PM

I love your car man. The brakes really help complete it.

christian370z 04-30-2011 10:06 PM

I didn't realize how aggressive the rear offsets are, that is a nice bit of poke there... Fingers crossed for your oil check!
