 thanks

zguynate 01-04-2015 12:12 AM

Nice pics. How much torque is your clutch rated for? I have looked and can't find anything.

Boost_lee 01-04-2015 10:23 PM

I only found HP ratings also, even though tq levels are the important factor for clutches. Cross your fingers, so far so good.

I was fortunate enough to be selected for a small feature and writeup!

Only updates are Bride Gias carbon kevlar seats and a blacked out fangs with the grill removed. Still exploring options for E85 or MS109

Awesome work as always lee! Loved the feature and pics

Brother
we need an update

Boost_lee 11-12-2015 12:27 AM

Long time since I've been in here. I've been busy getting settled into a house and all, but as far as the Z goes, no big updates really. Been on the fence about parting ways with the car to move on to something new. Before doing that though, I did want the car on E85, so I had that done last week. Car is now tuned with ECUTEK making 552whp/481wtq on 12psi. ECUTEK's built-in traction control works pretty well :driving:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...1389a0c0b7.jpg

I may purchase a Zeitronix Ethanol content sensor and wire it in to allow full flex-fuel control...we'll see

As she sits today, minus the blacked out fangs, I removed that and went back to blue:

I don't know if you remember talking a couple years ago, I had a almost identically modded MB 370. I regret selling mine. I will be interested in yours when you decide to sell, so PM me when that day comes. PLEASE.

BTW, Looks fantastic as always, excellent numbers too!

AntiVenom 12-19-2015 09:33 PM

So I just breezed through the 814 posts in your build. Awesome car! I especially love your current wheel and tire fitment with the Volks.

I saw some info on your early setups where you were running some pretty aggressive camber in the rear without camber arms, but didn´t spot any alignment info on your current setup.

I would love to run the same offsets. What camber are you running? Also, how´s the traction with 305s and the turbo?

I vaguely remember but I will definitely keep you in mind!

Thanks for the kind words. I can't recall off the top of my head, I'll need to look for the sheet. My front tires are pretty much eaten up by camber wear now, but the rears are much better. The 305s are ok, but the RS3's dont hook as well in the cold; ECUTEK is doing most of the traction work right now. I'll be looking for a new tire to try out soon, perhaps an NT05 or similar. Got some good W's against a modded M4 DCT and a modded CTS-V wagon yesterday though

Jealous of the TE37SLs....I wanted those lol. Are you moving forward with the flex fuel? I was looking at the Zeitronix kit as well, but haven't found much as far as reviews or ppl who have used/do use it.

Beautiful Z; definitely one of my favorites here.

Boost_lee 01-04-2016 01:37 AM

thanks all! I haven't moved forward with flex fuel yet, running on ECUTEK isn't as bad since you can switch maps on the fly.

Now I'm contemplating on stepping down to an 18" wheel to get some beefier tires...

I just went through your entire thread, and read just about every update you went through. Keep it up man! I have some ideas in my head for my MB, but I have to find the money for them first lol.

How are you liking the Specialty Z clutch kit? Im between that and the Southbend setup. Either way, I won't be going with any kit that involves the Z1 CSC Elimination kit after what my friend is going through with his currently and for the last 10 months.

Boost_lee 02-12-2016 12:53 AM

Thanks for the kind words

I love the specialty Z clutch. The tilton race csc adds peace of mind and when paired with the RJM pedal, it feels like a normal car :D

No big updates - just performed some overdue maintenance on the car. Changed the oil, K&N air filters, and addressed an 02 sensor issue.

I had been throwing misfire and 02 sensor codes for a long time now and we thought I had an oil leak on the passenger side near the turbo. There would be a puff of smoke from the passenger side engine bay when the car would hit boost. I ordered a replacement Denso 02 sensor and upon further inspection, I found a very large exhaust leak between the 02 housing and downpipe/testpipe.

I replaced the sensor since I didn't want to chance redoing the work later on. I also purchased some Z1 MLS gaskets for both ends of the downpipe/testpipe.

Hopefully this will solve the issues.

Spec Jay 02-26-2016 12:56 PM

Some things that might help ya.

http://www.the370z.com/forced-induct...sor-1-a-2.html

I also get a random cylinder misfire during the winter on cold starts. Going to check plugs again too.

Boost_lee 03-15-2016 09:02 PM

Crossing fingers still but after clearing the code, a few spirited drives, and a trip to COTA, the code has not returned. So far so good :D

Side note....I'm contemplating on getting a new daily driver, so maybe the Z will stay in my possession for a little longer. Kind of tough to get a car with similar power levels at a good price point. We'll see what happens

Crap quality, but a little closed-course Mexico fun with a h/c/i/p CTS-V wagon

Thank you very much! :tiphat:

As for the car, she needs some new front tires, camber arms, and an alignment. I'd like some more comfortable seats also, guess I'm getting old :ugh2:

Boost_lee 01-16-2017 11:58 PM

Update:
New 275/35/19s (Conti Extreme Contact DW) were purchased for the front since the 255's were severely worn from camber
Front camber arms (Z1) have arrived and will be installed, soon followed with an alignment.
The car is currently running a tank of 93 octane to help clean out any deposits left from the E85 I ran for a year.

Also, I guess I forgot to post the root cause of neglect for my Z, my new daily. 2015 Chevy SS (6spd manual):happydance:

These are hard to come by with a manual so I had to hop on it when one popped up locally. Traded in the Tacoma (I miss it) but I can alway get back in one later down the line. This car is a blast with the 6spd mated to the LS3! Car put down 363whp/358tq stock and with the intake/exhaust mods I pulled a 13.1 @ 109mph. With a tune I think I'll be in the 12s on street tires. Plans are to TRY and keep it as is until the warranty expires, then this thing might get some longtubes and a blower :driving:

cv129 01-17-2017 12:31 AM

Love the blacked out trim and the Holden badge, car looks miles better than with the stock chrome pieces, very nice! I like the G8 and SS, great potential with just some tweaks to exterior and definitely a monster under the skin.

Zoren 370 01-17-2017 05:06 AM

Another well done daily driver car form one of the nicest Z in Texas and in the forum.

Boost_lee 03-03-2017 10:45 AM

Update:
UCAs are installed and the car was aligned (mostly toe). I may opt for some rear camber arms in the near future and re-align again. I'm not sure how much camber I can remove with the 275s up front. I'd like to get the rears closer to 0 as well to help with traction in a straight line.
The car is back on E85 again, hopefully the tank of 93 helped clean out any gunk or buildup associated with E85 - such a hugh difference in the maps for power delivery though. My injectors sound a bit louder, but I'm not sure if I just didn't notice it before.
The Bride seats were starting to be more of a pain than pleasure. I removed them and went back to stock seats. I softened up the suspension a few clicks and I love driving this thing all over again! I swear that SS is spoiling me with comfort.

I may opt for an updated version of ECUtek RaceROM but will require a retune. If I go that route I'll opt for ECU controlled boost and ditch the EBoost2 ebc.

TerribleONE 03-03-2017 11:55 AM

Nice SS man. Always been a fan of that car. Be careful going with the ECU boost control with ECUtek I heard its not that great at holding boost. I am going to go flex fuel with ECUtek soon but will be keeping me Eboost 2

Hotrodz 03-03-2017 12:47 PM

Yep, I have a Blitz Box boost controller and Seb is providing over boost protection as part of his tuning package.
