Hey dude! The SSR SP3's will be inn by the end of March, my guess is yours are going to be in the same container.

M.Bonanni 03-02-2010 12:01 PM

^^Sweet! I hope so. :D Would be a nice b-day present.

M.Bonanni 03-02-2010 04:08 PM

Made an appointment for tomorrow at 9am at a local shop to FINALLY get my NST pulley kit and SPC Toe Bolts installed, plus an alignment.

Will get my rotors on the car probably Thursday, then its off to Vivid Racing in Arizona on Friday for their JDM/Euro Charity meet.

So jealous, those wheels are beautiful--congrats!

M.Bonanni 03-03-2010 07:08 PM

NonStopTuning crank and alternator pulley are on the car! The OEM belt is still on the car, although the tensioner pulley is maxed out. It works fine, but not 100% ideal in my opinion so I will be ordering a slightly smaller Gates belt to replace it with. I am actually quite surprised at how much better the throttle response is. I am also quite surprised at how heavy the stock pulleys are in comparison. I am glad I took this particular item to a professional shop though as they had to remove the radiator fans and alternator which is beyond my comfort level.

SPC Performance toe bolts are finally in as well. Nothing really cool to say about these other than I now have more rear toe adjustment.

My production version Berk Technology cat-back exhaust system also showed up today so that and my rotors will go on tomorrow, just in time for the Vivid Racing JDM/Euro Charity Meet! SOOOOOO excited to finally get the x-pipe version back in the car. So much sexier sounding than the H-pipe prototype I have been running for the past few months.

LateralG'z 03-03-2010 11:18 PM

I am jealous I want to build a racer so badly, but I will starting my own project build soon in a couple of months.

M.Bonanni 03-04-2010 04:09 PM

Berk Technology production version cat-back exhaust is on the car! So happy to have that x-pipe sound back and good quality 100% stainless steel construction so no more surface rust like my old mild steel prototype. :D So shiny...

Also got my gently used StopTech slotted front and OEM replacement rear rotors from ChrisSlicks on the car!

How was the install of the exhaust, good instructions provided?

Yeah the install was cake, took probably 30 min. There are no instructions provided though, at least not in my box. Its about as simple as an install gets though.

The berk exhaust sounds so awesome. I'm ready for it to go into full production already.

Yeah for me full production means i can place an order somewhere. I realize they are making them but you can't even place an order to be put on the list for the back order.

$1399 I think is pretty set in stone for MSRP.

Don't have any gains with just the CBE. Judging by the gains the Berk exhaust made in addition to the HFCs, I am pretty confident in saying that it will be on par with the FI. We shall see soon enough as people are starting to receive their exhausts from the group buys.

Fine except for every high school kid in the world trying to race me lol. Other than that, no difference.

ChrisSlicks 03-08-2010 04:55 PM

Mike, when you changed to the Nismo studs did you happen to measure the length of the olds ones? I want to add a little length to mine for after market wheels (10mm) but hopefully short enough that I can still mount the stock wheels with the stock lugs.

No I didn't. Nismo studs come in 50mm and 60mm lengths though. I opted for the 60mm so there are some that are shorter than mine. I have to use open ended lugs.

I have open lugs for the aftermarket wheels.

What open lugs would you recommend for the stock wheels? I thought we were only supposed to use the washer style lugs on these wheels?

Yeah the stock wheels will only work with the stock lugs, or lugs that have the same design, but I don't know of any of the top of my head.

Looks like I might be getting a Fidanza lightweight flywheel soon! :)

Looks very similar to the JWT flywheel, which is the one I had on my wish list, however its a reported 0.4 lbs. lighter than the JWT one coming in at a reported 15 lbs. That's nearly half the weight of the stock flywheel which is 28 lbs.

Doesn't appear that anyone on these forums has tried this flywheel yet so I will be sure to give my review.

Yes! AccessPORT should be arriving any day, although I still have not begun researching places to do a custom tune for me, nor do I know if I can even afford one right away so I may just wait for the "off-the-shelf" COBB tunes to come out. So for the immediate time being I will just play with the functions that I can't blow my car up with. :D

hmm, I thought Fidanza made JWTs flywheels. They did for the 350.

That would explain their similarities. Once I have it I will weigh it and see if it is truly 15 lbs. even or 15.4 like JWT claims.

RCZ 03-18-2010 11:17 AM

Cool Mike, let us know how that goes. I am really itching for a lightened flywheel too. Soon enough I guess.

Fuel Starvation

Srry to get off topic guys, but I was wondering how Mike was doing with the fuel starvation problems. It seems like a common issue for 370z track users...It is starting to bother me with the constant filling up. Some guys like Travis and Phunk have been starting different projects to solve it. Any ideas Mike???
